We’re looking for our next Settlements Analyst. Could it Be You?
The purpose of the Settlements Analyst is to mitigate financial, regulatory and reputational risks by ensuring the SLA and regulatory compliance of third party clearing operations services and in-house processes. They work collaboratively to foster productive and positive relationships for the benefit of Questrade’s clients and overall business operations.
What’s it like working as a Settlements Analyst at Questrade?
The Analyst is responsible for performing the daily activities within Questrade’s Trade operations department. The position monitors, audits and measures in-house processes and third party services against SLAs and regulatory obligations, then reports on the results.
They act as the first and primary point of contact for third party administrative and supervisory employees. They foster positive and productive relationships internally and with third parties, and they work collaboratively with all parties to effectively resolve issues.

In this role, responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Completing individual/team’s critical priorities for the day including trade capture, confirmation, and settlement of all trades
- Ensuring all trades are acted upon as per deadline while maintaining high level of accuracy and exceptional service to both internal and external stakeholders
- Providing oversight and assistance for the failed trades and resolving settlement issues with traders, counterparties, and third party vendors
- Ensuring timely completion and accuracy of various reports and reconciliations relating to trade activity and internal accounts
- Processing end of day activities including DTCC balancing and trade clean ups
- Maintaining and building new relationship with both internal and external stakeholders
- Learning and meeting new business demands while striving for efficiency
- Monitoring and reviewing existing processes and seeking to identify ways to improve performance and efficiency
- Being an integral part of brainstorming, designing and implementing process and procedures
- Keeping current on Questrade products, services, programs, policies and procedures
- Other responsibilities as assigned
So are YOU our next Settlements Analyst? You are if you…
- Hold a post-secondary degree/diploma in related field or equivalent experience
- Have 2-4 years of relevant work experience in trade settlements/operations
- Possess strong communication and interpersonal skills, as well as experience with building and maintaining solid working relationships internally and externally
- Have strong organizational and time management skills
- Demonstrate analytical and reconciliation skills
- Thrive in a team setting and are comfortable in a constantly evolving environment
- Are proficient in Google Suite and Google Apps Script
Additional kudos if you…
- Have experience using Broadridge
- Have knowledge of Power BI, SQL, Python, Arrow, CDS, DTC, and Apex
Additional information:
- Please note this role will be required to be in office 3 days a week
