We’re looking for our next Senior IT Systems Administrator. Could It Be You?
The purpose of the Senior IT Systems Administrator is to design, implement and operate IT and Cloud Infrastructure.
The Senior IT Systems Administrator is responsible for effective design, provisioning, configuration and operation of systems hardware, software and related infrastructure in heterogeneous environments (Linux and Windows systems). This individual will participate in technical research and development to enable continuing innovation of the on-premise and cloud infrastructure.
The individual ensures that system hardware, operating systems, network and applications are aligned to corporate policies, procedures and best practices with a strong focus on documentation and high availability.
What’s it like working as a Senior IT Systems Administrator at Questrade?
- Support and maintenance Linux (Red Hat Enterprise Linux) and Windows (2016+) server systems using tools like Satellite and SCCM, Ansible, Saltstack, Terraform and other automation tools;
- Support and maintain Active Directory, IIS, DNS, DHCP, GPO, replication, Clustering and other Windows Technologies;
- Create and maintain the project and procedure documentation;
- Participate in a rotating on-call schedule which includes performing server maintenance/updates and providing technical support after hours.
So are YOU our next Senior IT Systems Administrator? You are if you have…
- 3+ years experience in a large-scale (2000+ VMs) environment with exposure to Linux, Windows and VMWare ESXi 6+;
- Hands-on (production) experience in any Cloud provider (Google preferred);
- Excellent knowledge of Active Directory, Azure AD, DNS, DHCP and Group Policy management;
- Solid networking knowledge (OSI Layers, well-known protocols);
- Strong documentation and presentation skills;
- Eager to learn new skills and develop new techniques;
- Strong attention to detail, comprehensive problem solving and troubleshooting skills;
- Must be able to effectively follow procedures and policies;
- Ability to work independently or under minimum supervision;
- Disaster Recovery/High Availability experience would be an asset;
- Experience in regulated environments is an asset (SOC, ISO27001, NIT, PCI) including escalations, change and incident management;
- Experience presenting and influencing technology strategy with executives through developers.
