Job type: Full-time, permanent  

Expected pay range: $80,000 - $90,000 per year

We’re looking for a Senior Accountant to join our Finance team based in the Chester office in Vancouver, BC. This individual will report to the Financial Controller. 

Job Overview:  

Reporting to the Controller, the Senior Accountant is responsible for ensuring accurate financial reporting, conducting financial analysis, and supporting the finance department's efforts to drive strategic decision-making. This role requires a thorough understanding of accounting principles, regulatory requirements, and strong analytical skills.

You will have the opportunity to: 

  • Prepare and review financial statements, ensuring compliance with GAAP
  • Conduct period-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing processes 
  • Perform detailed financial analysis to support business decisions and identify trends 
  • Prepare and review departmental budgets and roll up to a consolidated budget 
  • Coordinate with external auditors for year-end review 
  • Ensure timely and accurate reporting of financial information 
  • Provide support in implementing new accounting standards and regulations
  • Have a good understanding of corporate tax to prepare monthly tax accrualsns
  • Support the Controller with mentoring intermediate and junior accounting team membersand prepare ad hoc reports for management  

You will be a good fit if you have: 

  • 3-5+ years of relevant experience, in particular, prior experience in an accounting firm
  • CPA designation
  • Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting standards   
  • Proficiency in financial analysis and accounting software (experience with Syteline is an asset)  
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, financial modeling)   
  • Ability to communicate complex financial information clearly and strong leadership skills 
  • Experience in a manufacturing/and or retail environment is an asset
