SCADA Developer
We seek a SCADA Developer to work within the Advanced Manufacturing team. This position will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining SCADA systems using Inductive Automation’s Ignition platform. The successful candidate will play a key role in integrating new automation solutions, optimizing manufacturing processes, and collaborating with key stakeholders. We are looking for an individual who is innovative, detail-oriented, and open to challenges.
The successful candidate’s responsibilities will include:
- Design, develop, and maintain SCADA applications and HMIs using the Ignition platform.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and implement automation improvements in manufacturing processes.
- Integrate SCADA systems with PLCs, sensors, databases, and other industrial devices.
- Manage and configure data collection, process visualization, and reporting functions.
- Troubleshoot and resolve SCADA-related technical issues in a timely manner.
- Monitor system performance, ensure data accuracy, and optimize system reliability.
- Adhere to industry standards and best practices for SCADA design and security.
- Provide documentation, training, and support for end-users and other technical teams.
The ideal candidate for this position will have:
- Post-secondary education in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Automation, or a related discipline (or equivalent experience).
- 1-3 years of experience in SCADA development and implementation, with strong expertise in Ignition.
- Solid understanding of PLC programming, industrial communication protocols (e.g., OPC UA, Modbus, MQTT), and related automation technologies.
- Proven Experience in developing scripts using Python.
- Proven Experience in designing and deploying SQL databases.
- Proven ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams.
- Strong problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills.
- Experience with version control systems, scripting, or general programming languages is considered an asset.
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes and best practices for operational efficiency is a strong plus.
