Engineering Assistant - Student Term (8-month Term)
We are looking for an individual who is energetic, enthusiastic, productive, and can handle multiple priorities in a timely manner with a high level of accuracy and eager to learn.
The successful candidate's responsibilities will include:
- Develop detailed designs for mechanical products using CAD software
- Resolve and consult with others to correct design problems between manufacturing and engineering
- Draft technical details including bill of materials, as well as assembly instructions and comments
- Run product testing and adjust design requirements to improve performance
- Develop and Implement work instructions for various assembly, testing and manufacturing processes on the factory floor.
- Prepare engineering drawings that detail plans and specifications.
The ideal candidate for this position will have:
- An understanding of basic manufacturing processes and principles
- Able to read manufacturing drawings and blueprints
- Proficiency in Solid Works, AutoCAD, and Revit
- Previous experience with HVAC would be considered an asset
- Hands on experience, or basic understanding of basic power tools, hand tools,
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to convey technical information
- Technically inclined, energetic, productive, and can handle multiple priorities in a timely fashion with a high level of accuracy.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced, team environment
- Enrolled in a Mechanical Engineering (4th year) or Technology Program (2nd year)
