Position Overview
The Credit Associate plays a pivotal role in our finance team in the AR Department, reporting to the Credit Manager, who in turn reports to the Controller and CFO as necessary. This position supports the processing of accounting transactions and ensures accurate financial information. Responsibilities include monitoring accounts receivable balances, assisting with reporting and collection actions, and maintaining credit department files.
Responsibilities
- Assist the Credit Manager in monitoring accounts receivable balances, including issuing customer statements and weekly credit risk assessments.
- Collaborate with the Credit Manager on reporting, follow-up, and collection actions to mitigate credit risk.
- Maintain credit department files and customer records, including credit agency and insurance reporting.
- Support the A/R clerk in daily collection activities, transaction credits, and receivable invoice clean-ups.
- Assist in posting cash receipts and preparation of bank deposits and wire transfers.
- Ensure numerical continuity of sales invoices, credit notes, and returned goods issued.
- Utilize computer processing equipment for inputting and compiling accounting data.
- Assist in preparing proper documents related to receivables and customer databases.
- Maintain routine contacts, both internal and external, to secure, present, or discuss ideas or data.
- Perform other tasks as assigned to enable the Accounting and Other Departments to achieve their goals and objectives.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in accounts receivable or related field preferred.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (365) and accounting software.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
