SUMMARY
The Operations Supervisor is responsible for all aspects of the organization’s warehouse operations, including but not limited to receiving, inventory control, picking, loading, safety, and security. They coordinate operations with 3rd-party loading services and ensure customer support through accurate, on-time shipments. They are also responsible for planning, organizing, leading, and directing the activities of the warehouse personnel.
Shift: 11pm to 7:30am
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Schedule the labour requirements for the shift to ensure production goals are met within the budgeted cost structure. Schedule warehouse personnel based on upcoming volume (hours reduction when volume is low)
- Complete shift briefings to ensure the effective communication of relevant information to all employees
- Assign and follow up with warehouse staff on the length of time required for tasks to be completed by noting tasks assignments and communicating approximate time of completion
- Provide daily feedback to employees through coaching and administer performance appraisals
- Handle all disciplinary situations appropriately and in a timely manner with appropriate supporting documentation
- Ensuring an organization's employees adhere to policies, processes, and standards of performance and behavior in the pursuit of daily work
- Develop and maintain proper practices and methods that adhere to Metro Supply Chain as well as our client standards
- Support rolling out new processes to the team and ensuring training is supported to the ground level
- Train, and supervise reporting personnel in all designated areas
- Lead inventory processing, to ensure product availability for timely customer shipments and ensure compliance with the organization’s lead time goals
- Ensure all inbound, outbound, and reverse logistics documentation is performed with accuracy and efficiency
- Maintain targets, objectives, and goals throughout the warehouse
- Implement/supervise safe practices and ensure all are compliant with Occupational Health and Safety Act
- Supervise all dock searches
- Maintain warehouse product placement
- Coordinate communications effectively with internal and external clients and vendors
- Coordinate with inbound outbound dispatchers to ensure loads are delivered on time
EXPERIENCE
- Previous experience as a Warehouse Supervisor or a similar leadership position with proven success

EDUCATION
- College diploma in Business Management or 3+ years of relevant experience in the Supply Chain/Distribution/Transportation industries
