Summary:

Reporting to the Shipping Supervisor and as a key member of the Shipping team, the Shipper (Forklift Certified) is responsible for material handling, shipment picking, packaging, labeling and Handling Unit generation. Frequent forklift use and forklift certification is a required part this position.

 

As a member of the shipping team, the Shipper will participate in the achievement of corporate and departmental goals, consistently demonstrating, and encouraging the organization’s core corporate values and supporting Phantom’s overall strategic vision.

Reporting Relationships:

At this time, no positions report into the Shipping – Shipper (forklift certified)

 

Position Responsibilities:

(include but are not limited to, the following)

 

  • Adhere to all required safe work procedures and maintain a strong commitment to workplace safety.
  • Completing documentation related to incoming and outgoing shipments.
  • Navigate the shipment App to print pick tickets for order picking and the creation of handling units.
  • Creation of bundles, and pallet assembly, wrapping and labelling.
  • Safely utilize equipment such as pallet jacks, dock levelers, and strapping machines.
  • Safely load trucks by following proper loading procedures and ensure accurate scanning of packages.
  • Start and complete loading and unloading checklists and provide assistance in driver paperwork sign out, ensuring all necessary documentation is completed accurately.
  • Collaborate with other teams to improve safety, quality, and implement best practices and carrying out activities in the best interest of the organization.
  • Safe operation of a Counterbalanced Forklift, Yellow Jacket pallet wrapper and pallet scale.

  • Respect the need to maintain confidentiality of company information

 

  • Physical Requirements:
  • Mobility: While performing this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, use stairs, sit, and kneel.  The ability to remain in a stationary position as well as the ability to move about the office and plant is required.
  • Strength: Heavy lifting up to 50 lbs regularly and occasionally lift and/or move up to 80 pounds.
  • Sight: Vision correctable to within normal ranges is essential for observation, inspection, preparing documents, etc. Specific vision abilities required for this job include close vision, color vision, and ability to adjust focus
  • Hearing: Hearing correctable to within normal ranges is essential for normal conversations, receiving ordinary information, etc. Ability to communicate orally with customers, vendors, management, and coworkers is crucial. Occasional use of telephones for communication may be required.
  • Touch: Use hands to finger, handle, or feel, reach with hands and arms.  Good manual dexterity required
  • General: Must be capable of wearing personal protective equipment necessary to comply with government and company safety standards whenever engineered methods of reducing hazards or physical requirements cannot be reasonably accommodated

 

Shift Time and Wage

  • 8:00am - 4:30pm
  • Starting at $25.10 per hour

Academic Qualifications and Work Experience:

  • Mobile Equipment Operator mandatory
  • First Aid certification considered an asset
  • Valid Forklift License
  • Grade 12 or equivalent
  • Material Handling, Shipping and Warehousing background considered an asset
