Northern Station Agent

Position Summary
Reporting to the Northern Stations Manager, the Northern Stations Agent is responsible for carrying out various daily duties at the station.
The Northern Stations Agent’s duties include performing tasks related to aircraft loading/unloading and ensuring that there is constant communication with Flight Crew personnel and other ground personnel. The Northern Stations Agent is responsible for helping with office work, check-in, cargo, ramp/de-icing, fueling where applicable and other duties as delegated.

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities
- Maintain safety and security of the ramp at all times.
- Monitor customer safety during boarding and deplaning and assist customers in a friendly and courteous manner.
- Assist with checking in passengers.
- Accept cargo shipments and write-up airway bills/release freight to customers.
- Marshall aircraft on the ramp (includes directing, assisting and parking all arriving and departing aircraft).
- Operate motorized equipment (where available) requiring high degree of control and skill.
- Ensure that office equipment is in proper working condition, e.g. computers, debit machines, radios, etc.
- Fuel all aircraft (where applicable).
- Perform physically-demanding tasks effectively using the safest and most efficient methods possible.
- Observe safe ground handling procedures and maintenance of ground handling equipment, including the performance of equipment checks.
- Adhere to and operate within safety policies, procedures and practices, attending requisite safety training.
- Provide courteous, prompt, accurate and careful handling of customer baggage and airfreight (continuous lifting, loading/unloading, sorting and transfer of baggage and freight).
- Assist Flight Crew with off-loads including seat packs.
- Provide positive teamwork and ongoing support to the overall station, working closely with and having constant communications with Flight Crew personnel, and other station staff.
- Provide assistance in ramp set-up and storage of equipment and baggage.
- Perform other duties as assigned by Supervisor/Manager.
Minimum Education, Experience and Certifications
- Customer Service experience
- Basic understanding of mathematics
- Indigenous and Cultural Awareness Training considered an asset
Working Conditions
- Physically able to perform all listed job duties
- Travel by aircraft and other means as required by role
- Comfortable working outdoors and in an office environment
- Working various shifts and at a fast pace in order to meet service level requirements of the airline
- In good general health with the ability to lift and bend, carrying loads of up to 50lbs
