PavCo is the owner and operator of two of Canada’s premier venues for events, BC Place Stadium and the Vancouver Convention Centre.

PavCo is hiring an enthusiastic, caring, and collaborative Senior Project Manager to join our Infrastructure and Capital Projects team.

Reporting to the Senior Manager, Capital Project Delivery, the Senior Project Manager leads the planning, execution, and oversight of project activities while managing budgets to ensure high-quality deliverables are completed on time and within scope.

This role acts as a client service provider, collaborating closely with the events and operations teams to align with strategic objectives. Projects span various areas, including accessibility, sustainability, infrastructure upgrades, technology enhancements, and initiatives to improve the guest experience and operational efficiency.

WHAT YOU WILL DO:

  • Lead and be responsible for delivery of complex projects to completion, ensuring that project deliverables are delivered on time, within budget, and at the required level of quality.
  • Accountable for project reporting to track project progress, changes, and other required performance indicators.
  • Resolve or remove barriers to project level issues escalating where appropriate.
  • In conjunction with the venue team members develop project justifications and business case (Decision Note)
  • Create scope of work, cost estimates, project plans, and work plan schedule identifying and sequencing the activities needed to successfully complete the project.
  • Support the development and engagement of Project Coordinators through ongoing mentorship, coaching and performance management based on goals and objectives.  Ensure development plans are in place for skills/career growth.
  • Reviews fee proposals, co-ordinates activities of architects, consultants, contractors and liaises with stakeholders including PavCo venue teams.
  • Ensure compliance with municipal, provincial, and federal building codes.
  • Plan and manage daily operations and construction schedules while monitoring progress including entering construction booking data into EBMS software.
  • Manage and issue change orders up to approval threshold and coordinate with capital team leadership for other changes.
  • Reduce PavCo’s exposure to contract claims through risk management approaches
  • Ensures a smooth transition of the completed project to the PavCo venue facilities teams including establishing training requirements and transferring record drawings, service manuals, and warranties and/or creating Standard Operating Procedures.

 

The salary range for this position is $77,788-96,860

  • Offers will be in line with PavCo’s internal pay equity and qualified candidate’s experience and education.

WHAT YOU WILL BRING:

  • Completion of a 4-year University Degree in engineering, design, planning, project management, IT or business administration is preferred or a combination of education and work experience.
  • Courses in Project Management, Project Management Certification or equivalent experience.
  • Professional designation preferred (PMP, PMI-ACP Designation and BOMA or IFMA Certification are assets).
  • Certified and proficient with EBMS and AutoCAD is an asset.
  • Experience in hospitality, accessibility, sustainability or infrastructure upgrades and renovations in a hotel, shopping centre, stadium, or event facility is an asset.
  • Experience in a range of project types including construction, design, and/or technology.
  • Experience in a project management role managing complex time sensitive projects.
