The Town has an opportunity for the position of Application Support Analyst. This position is responsible for providing support for business applications, databases, and systems integrations with a focus on troubleshooting, optimization, and enhancement of business processes. The successful candidate will manage both legacy software applications and modern SaaS platforms, ensure seamless data flow through API development and deployment, and offer ongoing support for all systems within the organization.
Job Duties:
- Providing second level support of SaaS-based applications, including Microsoft Dynamics GP, Dayforce, Citywide, Xplore Rec, etc.; troubleshooting functionality and performance issues, configuring applications, supporting user onboarding, managing upgrades and patches, and ensuring smooth operation across all platforms; and collaborating with teams and vendors to ensure seamless integration between applications, and optimize user experience.
- Maintaining detailed documentation for supported applications, including configurations, workflows, troubleshooting guides, and procedures; developing and maintaining a repository for application documentation to support knowledge sharing and continuity; developing, maintaining, and troubleshooting APIs and system integration points between legacy systems, SaaS platforms, and third-party applications; ensuring data flow and connectivity across platforms, addressing performance issues and optimizing integration processes for improved efficiency.
- Leading the development, configuration, and support of reporting and analytics platforms; supporting users in creating and maintaining customized dashboards and reports, integrating data; designing and implementing dashboards to enhance insights and decision-making; supporting related technologies for reporting, visualization, and tools like FME for data transformation.
- Analyzing existing systems to identify areas for improvement, managing change requests, and providing solutions to enhance performance and user experience; support system upgrades, documentation, and business process improvement.
- Overseeing the performance of databases supporting key applications; handling upgrades, patches, and data migrations while maintaining security; and ensuring applications are operating optimally and are up to date with the latest enhancements.
- Supporting web-based systems and applications by resolving configuration and integration issues; and supporting the development and maintenance of web content systems and collaborate with teams to enhance the user experience.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- University degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field or combination of education, training and experience deemed to be equivalent.
- Minimum four (4) years of professional experience in application support, IT operations, or a related technical field, with demonstrated ability to manage and resolve complex application issues.
- Hands-on Tier 2 application support experience, including troubleshooting, maintenance, and optimization of business applications; proven expertise with SQL Server databases, including writing queries, troubleshooting performance issues, and managing database environments.
- Solid knowledge and experience in systems design, development, implementation, and technical support, emphasizing business application environments.
- Hands-on experience with coding and integration technologies such as SQL, XML, JSON, and PowerShell. Familiarity with additional technologies like REST, SOAP, Java, or HTML 5 is an asset.
- Proficiency in at least one reporting and visualization tool for generating operational and strategic insights, such as Crystal Reports, Power BI, or SSRS; and proficiency in SQL (T-SQL, PL/SQL) and reporting tools (e.g., Power BI, Crystal Reports).
- Strong problem-solving, time management, and communication skills, with a customer-focused mindset, excellent verbal and written communication skills, organizational skills with considerable attention to detail to avoid errors and the ability to meet deadlines.
- Strong interpersonal skills including the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
Successful candidates will be required to complete a background check, including but not limited to a Criminal Record Check, in accordance with the duties of this position.
Salary Range: $86,450.36 to $101,134.69, Band 10 on the Town’s 2025 Pay Grid, plus a comprehensive benefits package.
