The Town of Orangeville is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated individual for the position of Crossing Guard. The main duty of this position is to be observant of traffic, children, other pedestrians, and weather conditions; safely stopping traffic by walking out into the crosswalk area with a stop sign to ensure the safety of children and other pedestrians as they cross the street. 

 

This position is situated in various locations throughout the Town of Orangeville, and preference is given to candidates with access to a vehicle. Successful candidates must be able to work outside in various weather conditions and stand for long periods of time. Hours of work for this position are initially offered on an as-needed basis, with no minimum hours guaranteed. Successful candidates must have some secondary school education as well as excellent observation, communication, and customer service skills.

 

Successful candidates will be required to complete a background check, including but not limited to a Vulnerable Sector Check, in accordance with the duties of this position.

 

Hourly Range: $18.63 to $21.80, Band 2 on the Town’s 2024 Pay Grid (currently under review)
