Tourism Ambassador Student

The Town has an opportunity available for the position of Tourism Ambassador Student. This position will work with the Economic Development and Culture office to develop, implement, and support tourism-related initiatives and experiences in Orangeville.
Responsibilities include the development of interesting, engaging, and memorable content that promote the Town’s tourism drivers. The Tourism Ambassador Student will also support marketing and promotional efforts required to attract visitors and will assist with the planning and execution of tourism-related initiatives and projects led by the Tourism and Culture Officer. Representing the Town of Orangeville at community events and interacting with the local businesses are additional opportunities included in this role.
Qualifications:
- Enrolled in a post-secondary program at senior level with focus in tourism, marketing, communications, history, or related field.
- Six (6) months of customer oriented, public-facing work experience.
- Valid Ontario Class G license and access to a vehicle for community engagement activities and events.
Hourly Rate: $24.59 - $26.60 (2025 rate)
Please note:
- To be eligible for this job, students must be enrolled in full-time post-secondary education. Preference is given to those returning to full-time post-secondary studies in the fall. Students may be asked to provide proof of enrolment.
- All student interviews are expected to be scheduled in February 2025. We will work within the Winter 2025 reading weeks advertised by Ontario post-secondary institutions; however, please be advised that we may not be able to accommodate every school schedule. Virtual interview formats are available.
- All Town student positions are subject to budget and grant approval, and thus may be subject to change.
