The Town of Orangeville Community Services Department regularly seeks qualified individuals for the positions of Swim Instructor. Duties of the position include:

• Arriving at least fifteen (15) minutes prior to shift; ensuring that the pool deck area is safe for all users and that emergency first aid equipment is in its proper place; maintaining a clean pool deck, pool equipment and change rooms.
• Ensuring the pool deck area is safe for all users and that emergency first aid equipment is in its proper place.
• Participating in regular staff training programs, maintaining aquatic certification and ability to perform exercises in emergency situations.

• Providing instruction in aquatic programs or perform lifeguard services; alert at all times in order to be prepared for emergencies; enforcing pool facility policies, procedures, rules and regulations; maintaining accurate records pertaining to lesson plans and report cards.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• Some secondary school education
• Current Standard First Aid/CPR C or equivalent, from an accredited organization
• Current Lifesaving Swim Instructors
• Current Bronze Cross

• Minimum of fifteen (15) years of age
• Successful candidates will be required to complete a background check, including but not limited to a Vulnerable Sector Check in accordance with the duties of this position.

Hourly Range: $17.48 to $20.45, Band 1 on the Town’s 2025 Hourly Pay Grid
