1 FTE – Thunder Bay Site
One of a network of provincial community health centres, the NorWest Community Health Centres is a community based, non-profit organization funded by Ontario Health, emphasizing access to primary health care and prevention programs and services.
We are currently seeking a 1 FTE Director of Health Services, who, in support of the mission, vision and values of the NorWest CHCs, serves as a member of the senior leadership team. The Director of Health Services directs leadership planning, delivery and evaluation of all aspects of the Health Services Program offered within the Centres.
Ensuring efficient delivery of service, to diverse clientele, within the District of Thunder Bay is a key goal. The position has a competitive salary, the Health Care of Ontario’s Pension Plan and an excellent group health benefits package.
Qualifications:
- Masters degree in a related field is preferred and a combination of three to five years of educational preparation and applicable work experience.
- Demonstrated experience and knowledge in the areas of community health, primary health care and health promotion.
- Experience leading and growing highly effective management team that can respond to organizational and operational needs.
- Ability to collect and analyze data, including familiarity with computer software applications.
- Understanding and experience working in diverse, underserved communities.
- Awareness of and sensitivity to health issues particularly within populations who face barriers to accessing care (under housed, living with mental health challenges or diagnoses, current or past substance use, complex health histories, 2SLGBTQI+, newcomers, non-insured).
- Knowledge of current health care legislation and health care reform.
- Commitment to quality improvement and advancing strategic priorities.
- Experience working within an interdisciplinary team environment.
- Ability to develop and nurture strategic partnerships.
- Experience with collective bargaining and managing within a unionized environment.
- Excellent organizational, communication and time management skills.
- Provide leadership in the absence of the CEO.
- A vehicle and valid driver’s license are required.
