Job Summary
Snowsports Team Leads provide a consistent flow of information between instructors and management to create positive and memorable experiences for our guests and staff. They demonstrate positive energy and show resourcefulness, safety first practices and professionalism.
Essential Job Functions
• Carry out the functions of the position of Snowsports Team lead in a professional and ethical manner
• Communicate clearly in a respectful and enthusiastic manner using language appropriate to our guests and team members.
• Assist Supervisors with the day-to-day co-ordination of all Snow School programs through scheduling assistance and on snow staff supervision.
• Work with guests of all ages and abilities and promote guest loyalty through a fun and engaging learning experience
• When working with children:

- Always supervise children while they are in your care
- Assist in operational responsibilities of relevant Kids' programs including but not limited to registration process, lunch and snack service and upkeep of outdoor teaching areas

• Adapt to, support, and effectively deal with change and share learning opportunities with others
• Be a team player, work considerately with all departments within the company
• Engage with the supervisory and management team, demonstrate pro-active, positive and effective communication to facilitate and support teamwork and cooperation
• Maintain currency in qualification and pursue ongoing professional training and development to provide high-level guest service and a positive on snow experience
• Arrive fit for work and take responsibility for your personal health and safety
Supervisory Responsibility
This position provides direct supervision to the following positions: Snowsports Instructor, Snow School Volunteer
Required Qualifications and Abilities
• Have 4 previous seasons of experience working as a Ski/Snowboard Instructor and a minimum of 1 season in a supervisor or lead role
• Possess a minimum CSIA/CASI Level 2 Certification (or international equivalent) and able to provide proof of current certification
• Have appropriate physical fitness to take on all assignments
• Possess a high level of skiing/snowboarding abilities
• Be fluent in all aspects of the English language (spoken and written)
• Have excellent guest service skills
• Have excellent communication skills
• Work well in a team
• Be able to work in inclement weather in an alpine environment
• Have sight, speech, and hearing abilities sufficient to learn skills, follow and provide directions.
• Available to work five days a week, including evenings, weekends & holidays
• Successful applicants over the age of 19 will be required to provide results of a clear background check valid within six months of the hire date before starting work. Grouse Mountain will assist with this process if the applicant does not have a valid background check.
Working Conditions
Hours of Operation are weather dependent. Due to the nature of the business, this position requires flexibility in terms of your work schedule. A variety of work schedules may include a variety of start times, including shifts on weekends and statutory holidays. Shifts require standing for long periods of time, lifting, twisting, shoveling and other forms of manual tasks.
Compensation and Benefits
- $21.10 to $34.25 per hour dependent on certification and experience.
