Job Summary
Working with Operations management to ensure Terrain Parks meet and exceed safety regulations and quality standards. Training of terrain park staff for standard operating procedures, proper maintenance techniques, and information recording. Coordinating with grooming staff for night shift grooming tasks. Coordinating with Patrol/ Duty Manager in regards to proper fencing, hazard marking, and regular patrolling. Ensuring the Terrain Park staff have a constant list of tasks. Hands-on construction with Snow Cat in all Parks.
Essential Job Functions
- Performing maintenance tasks involving raking, shoveling, salting, inspecting of all features throughout the day depending on traffic, snow conditions
- Ensuring that all fencing, signs, and feature markers entrance is properly setup at all times during operating hours, and that they are properly taken down for grooming and maintenance.
- Documenting maintenance upon completion in the daily conditions report along with current weather/ snow conditions, and inspections for liability purposes
- Keeping hourly/daily traffic counts for all terrain park zones for statistical purposes, also monitoring traffic to watch out for those riders who should not be in the terrain park due to their ability level.
- Guest services with customers on a daily basis
- Assisting with all events throughout the season including pre-event promotion in the Terrain Park, event setup, maintenance, and breakdown.
- Ensuring that Terrain Park Rangers on task with daily duties
- Working with Supervisor and Manager on creating workflow of terrain park
- Hands on building with Park Groomer on build nights
Supervisory Responsibility
This position provides direct supervision to the following roles: Terrain Park Rangers.
Required Qualifications and Abilities
- Possess strong riding or skiing ability.
- Previously worked two seasons as a Terrain Park Ranger
- Possess strong understanding of Freestyle feature design.
- Ability to work early mornings and overnight shifts
- Ability to lift up to 60 lbs.
- Ability to work in adverse weather conditions.
- Ability to follow direction, act a leader of the team, and was well as complete tasks with minimal supervision.
Working Conditions
Terrain Park Lead Hands perform most of their duties outdoors and may work in all different kinds of weather conditions. Hours of operation are weather dependent. Due to the nature of the business, this position requires flexibility in terms of your work schedule. A variety of work schedules may include rotation of shifts, day/evening shifts, and weekends and statutory holidays. Shifts require standing for long periods of time, lifting, twisting, shoveling and other forms of manual tasks.
Compensation and Benefits
$19.26/hour to 22.53/hour
