Manufacturing Materials Analyst

The Materials Analyst, reporting to the Manager of Manufacturing, is responsible for measuring, recording, and analyzing the physical properties of in-process powder materials. This role ensures compliance with work procedures (WPs), Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMPs). The analyst will collaborate with various departments to maintain product quality and consistency, supporting the timely and efficient production of high-quality materials. Strong communication and data analysis skills are crucial for success in this role.
A Day in The Life of A Manufacturing Materials Analyst:
- You will work a set shift of Monday to Friday 8:00am - 4:30pm.
- Collect blended powder samples from blending operations in a timely manner.
- Measure the density and flowability of powder materials using a Powder Flow Tester, conduct capsule powder slug tests using a slug tester, and perform additional testing as requested by the Manufacturing or Formulation departments.
- Record and manage test data to identify trends and deviations. Notify relevant departments of significant deviations.
- Support cross-departmental initiatives by providing timely and accurate test results.
- Maintain organization and cleanliness of the testing room and testing instruments.
- Adhere strictly to all safety policies as outlined in company policies and training sessions.
What We're Looking for From You:
- An applied science degree (preferred).
- Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and precision in a lab environment.
- Mechanical aptitude with the ability to safely operate hand tools and material handling equipment, such as pallet jacks.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively across departments.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel and SharePoint.
- Experience in powder flow testing or capsule manufacturing (preferred).
- Familiarity with cGMP and other industry standards.
