Morinville is embarking on an ambitious journey to revolutionize its information management systems, and we need a skilled Records and Information Management Coordinator to be a vital part of this transformative project. As a key member of our project management team, you will lead and collaborate in the design and execution of a new Information Management program, integrating innovative practices and technologies, including a new Electronic Records Management System (ERMS). This is an exciting chance for someone who excels in a collaborative project management environment and is passionate about driving change in public sector information governance.

Reporting to the Manager, Communications and Legislative Services, the Records and Information Management Coordinator leads the municipality’s records and information management portfolio and the Freedom of Information and Privacy program. This position provides day-to-day expertise and coordination in implementing, monitoring, and continuously improving these functions. 

Your Impact:

  • Collaborate as part of the Project Governance Committee and work closely with team members to develop and implement a comprehensive Information Management program, aligning with the town’s strategic goals.
  • Lead the strategic planning and operational execution of the Electronic Records Management System (ERMS), ensuring it effectively supports the new Information Management program.
  • Lead the planning and execution of the digitization strategy, ensuring the efficient transition of existing records to digital formats.
  • Manage the Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy (FOIP) program, ensuring it aligns with the overall information management objectives.
  • Develop and enforce policies and procedures promoting best practices in information management across all departments.
  • Provide training and guidance to staff in collaboration with other project team members, ensuring a unified approach to ERMS usage and FOIP compliance.

 

Who We're Looking For:

  • A collaborative and visionary professional with a diploma in Public Administration, Public Policy, Law, or a related field.
  • Minimum three (3) years experience in a similar role, with a strong team-based project management and policy development background, preferably in a municipal government setting.
  • Completion of a Certificate in Access and Privacy Fundamentals for Alberta Public Bodies.
  • Completion of a Certificate in Freedom of Information & Protection of Privacy (FOIP): Access to Information and Protection of Privacy.
  • Experience working with Electronic Records Management Software (ERMS), specifically Xerox DocuShare is an asset.
  • In-depth knowledge of applicable Acts and regulations (e.g., Municipal Government Act, Local Authorities Election Act and Municipal Census Regulations, Bylaws and Policies, FOIP, etc.).
  • Exceptional teamwork, leadership, communication, organizational, and analytical skills, complemented by an ability to handle sensitive information with discretion.

 

Compensation/Hours of Work:

Annual salary range of $78,631 to $93,889 (7 Step Grid), based on a 35-hour work week. We offer a comprehensive benefits package including pension, professional development opportunities, compressed work schedule program, and a flexible and supportive work environment.
