Mohawk Medbuy Corporation (MMC) is a national, not-for-profit, shared services organization that supports hundreds of health care providers across Canada, as well as child welfare agencies and other public sector organizations. MMC provides value-driven contracting and procurement solutions for medical/surgical supplies, pharmaceutical products, local sourcing, capital (equipment, FF&E and redevelopment) and nutrition solutions. Other services include data analytics, in-hospital support, warehousing/logistics, technology, procure-to-pay, and accounts payable.
MMC is actively supporting the creation of a resilient value chain that incorporates environmental social, and economic wellbeing – and fosters the participation of Indigenous businesses. Based in Burlington, ON, MMC operates regional hubs in Toronto, Thunder Bay, Kingston, Brantford and London as well as a hub and distribution centre in Oakville.
We are currently recruiting for a full-time Senior IT Infrastructure Architect to support our IT team.
Position Overview
The Senior IT Infrastructure Architect is responsible for the design, development, operations and support of the infrastructure for MMC and will work closely with other IT technical team members and IT leadership to ensure current and future state hardware and software are in place to support MMC business needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain technical skills in multiple domains including servers, storage, desktops, security, web, cloud, disaster recovery/backup, cybersecurity and network infrastructure in a multi-application environment.
- Lead and manage in-depth IT infrastructure solutions process including physical and logical design, sizing, interoperability, scaling and security aspects of all Information Technology (IT) hardware and software components of the solution selected.
- Collaborate with several managed services vendors hosting and maintaining infrastructure.
- Collaborate with peers and leadership providing direction and road maps for Office 365 and Azure cloud services in enterprise-class application (ERP- SAP S/4HANA, SAP EWM, CRM, MRP, LMS, and Logistics) environments.
- Work with business leaders, as part of a larger delivery team, converting business requirements and capabilities into an architectural blueprint and conceptual design with an eye on market and technical conditions and future direction.
- Lead and resolve complex platform issues that have serious business impact.
- Analyze, assess and recommend changes and improvement of current infrastructure implementation
- Estimate and compare the financial impact of technology alternatives. Ensure IT infrastructure solutions and costs are being continuously optimized and that the organization is maximizing spend to value.
- Accountable for developing and supporting infrastructure architecture for MMC applications and systems and ensuring that the infrastructure architecture complies with the approved standards.
- Provides leadership for design, development and implementation in applying the infrastructure architecture and solution design to project teams ensuring alignment with a technical roadmap.
- Enhance MMC IT team competencies by answering technical and procedural questions, teaching improved processes and mentoring team members on the infrastructure solutions.
- Develop technology roadmaps.
- Participate in the selection of hardware and software products and participate in the feature and timeline implementation.
- Diagnose critical/non-critical operational problems and recommend and implement changes to meet availability, reliability, functionality, and/or performance objectives.
- Establish and implement security and integrity controls that protect data assets and meet business and regulatory requirements.
- Track research regarding infrastructure design and usability; participate in educational opportunities; read professional publications; participate in professional organizations.
- After-hours support of critical infrastructure and applications.
- All other duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Skills
- Knowledge of IP-based network architecture and contemporary virtualization technologies.
- Knowledge of Service Now ITSM platform.
- Azure cloud services in enterprise-class application environments, such as: SAP S/4HANA, SAP EWM, CRM, MRP, LMS and Logistics.
- Excellent written, verbal and presentation skills.
- Demonstrated ability to understand business processes to identify opportunities for automation.
- Ability to develop policies and procedures, risk assessment and communicate effectively at the C level.
- Ability to develop technology roadmaps.
- Ability to diagnose critical operational problems and implement changes to meet reliability, functionality and performance objectives.
- Technical leadership experience.
- Bachelor's Degree (University Degree) in Computer Science, Systems Analysis or a related field. A combination of education and experience may be considered.
- Minimum of 6-8 years’ experience in infrastructure architecture, engineering, and administering technology in a distributed environment with capabilities including infrastructure architecture, network, middleware, desktop, storage, relational databases, layered software services including, but not limited to, system monitoring, scheduling and backup/recovery, disaster recovery, servers (Windows platform), enterprise voice and collaboration, web, cloud, Wi-Fi, and virtualization.
- 3+ years of technical leadership experience.
- A minimum of 5 years of technical infrastructure project leadership experience for projects of varying sizes and scope is required.
- 5+ years of infrastructure architecture and engineering experience including virtualization, cloud, server, storage, and networking (Azure and Hyper-V experience preferred)
- Solid understanding of IP-based network architecture and contemporary virtualization technologies.
- Proven success on projects with large-scale deployments, ensuring targeted business outcomes.
- Experience in capacity and performance management.
- Experience with ITSM service management platforms, i.e Service Now.
- Experienced with data-based decision making.
- Experience in TOGAF, SDLC, ITSM, IT operations and programming skills is an asset.
- Infrastructure and Cloud certification is an asset.
Travel
- Ability to travel to Mohawk Medbuy offices if required.
