Senior Cybersecurity Project Manager


Location: Remote, Western / Central Canada

MOBIA is currently recruiting a Senior Cybersecurity Project Manager to join our team REMOTELY in Western / Central Canada. The base salary for this role starts at $90K, with total compensation based on skills, experience, and qualifications. We are seeking an experienced Senior Cybersecurity Project Manager to develop and lead the Project Management Office (PMO) for our Enterprise and Public Sector Business Unit at MOBIA. This role will be instrumental in driving the success of our cybersecurity initiatives and ensuring the delivery of high-quality solutions to our clients. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership abilities, a deep understanding of cybersecurity best practices and frameworks, and experience managing cross-functional teams and stakeholders.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • PMO Development and Leadership:
    • Establish and implement cybersecurity and infrastructure PMO best practices, methodologies, and reporting standards for professional services projects.
    • Develop and maintain project management templates, tools, and processes.
    • Provide mentorship and guidance to project managers and team members.
  • Project Management:
    • Oversee multiple complex cybersecurity and infrastructure projects simultaneously.
    • Define project scope, goals, and deliverables in alignment with business objectives.
    • Create detailed project plans, including timelines, budgets, and resource allocation.
    • Conduct regular risk assessments and implement effective mitigation strategies.
  • Stakeholder Management:
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including delivery teams, pre-sales, finance, and staffing.
    • Communicate project status, challenges, and risks to senior management and stakeholders.
    • Negotiate and manage relationships with vendors and third-party service providers.
  • Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Expertise:
    • Ensure projects align with industry standards and regulatory requirements (e.g., NIST, ISO 27001, GDPR).
    • Manage the delivery of both small and large-scale infrastructure projects.
    • Stay current with emerging cybersecurity threats, technologies, and trends.
    • Provide strategic guidance on cybersecurity initiatives and best practices.
  • Other duties as assigned.

 

Skills/Qualifications:  

  • Education:
    • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
  • Experience:
    • 10+ years of experience in cybersecurity and/or systems engineering project management.
    • Proven track record of successfully delivering large-scale cybersecurity and infrastructure projects.
    • Experience working with both public sector and enterprise clients.
    • Experience in building and leading a PMO practice, including training and mentoring other project managers.
    • Experience with digital transformation initiatives in infrastructure and cybersecurity (preferred).
  • Certifications:
    • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
    • Cyber Security Governance Certifications (e.g., Security+, CISM, CRISC, CSIA).
    • Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) or equivalent (preferred).
  • Knowledge & Skills:
    • Strong knowledge of project management methodologies (e.g., PMP, Agile, PRINCE2).
    • Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills.
    • Familiarity with Governance and Risk Management practices, specifically applied to infrastructure and cybersecurity best practices.
    • Knowledge of Canadian cybersecurity regulations and standards (preferred).
