MOBIA is currently recruiting a Telecom Tester to join our team in the GTA, Ontario. This role includes testing, software loading, configuring telecommunication equipment (like 4G/5G radios and Microwave units), and cleaning and testing fiber optics. The ideal candidate will have previous experience in the telecom industry, experience working with and testing fiber optic cables, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Testing, software loading & configuration of various types of telecommunication equipment (4G/LTE/5G radios, Microwave, Small Cell, Pico Cell, etc.)
  • Fiber optic cleaning & testing
  • Final inspection of project before deployment (validate all items are included, assembly is correct, testing is complete, etc.)
  • Entering data into MOBIA’s project management tool
  • Working with the team to RMA defective devices
  • Other duties as required.

 

Skills/Qualifications:  

  • 5+ years of previous telecom experience
  • Experience working with & testing fiber optic cables
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Excellent computer skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced production environment to meet customer deadlines
  • This is a warehouse production-based position, but the ability to occasionally travel or work in the field is an asset
  • Bilingual is an asset but not required
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a high attention to detail
  • Ability to think critically
