About the Position
Reporting to the Marketing and Communications Manager, the Communications Specialist plays a pivotal role in shaping our workplace culture, driving employee engagement, and amplifying our corporate vision. Key Responsibilities
Communications
- Develop, implement, and manage communication strategies that promote company initiatives, values, and culture.
- Develop and execute annual communications plan in alignment with the strategic marketing and communications plan and priorities and assess success with key metrics.
- Develop, research, and write stories, scripts, and key messages for all communication materials in all media formats (e.g., print, web, social media, videos, and presentations). Collaborate with team members to ensure that all materials are in alignment with campaign goals and messaging.
- Interview employers, industry experts, and employees to research, develop, write, edit and publish engaging stories for web, print, video, social media, and other formats.
- Develop creative direction with Mint’s overall branding guidelines to create communication materials.
- Coordinate and liaise with external vendors, media and other departments.
- Develop, manage, and distribute core employment process-based communications.
- Organize, write, and manage website content.
- Represent Mint at internal and external events.
- Support change management efforts, including stakeholder engagement, change plans, impact assessment, and training and sustainment strategies.
- Create engaging content for internal newsletters, intranet updates, and company announcements.
- Collaborate with department heads to gather insights and disseminate relevant information to employees.
- Organize and facilitate internal events, workshops, and town halls to foster communication and engagement.
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of communication strategies and provide recommendations for improvement.
- Maintain a consistent brand voice and messaging across all communication platforms.
Additional Duties
- Develop reports and summaries of routine and ad hoc events, strategies, campaigns, and outcomes.
- Treat the environment as a priority, ensuring all local, provincial, and federal regulations are met or exceeded.
- Promote and advocate for a workplace which supports diversity, equity, and inclusion in all business operations.
- Maintain high standards with respect to the Environment, Health and Safety of employees, customers, members of the community, and other constituents.
- Meet or exceed the requirements outlined in the company’s safety program, adopting passion and advocacy for high standards of health and safety.
- Other related duties as assigned.
Education & Qualifications
- Post secondary education in Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, or a related field.
- Minimum of three (3) years of experience in internal communications, corporate communications, or a related area, with proven experience in content creation and management.
- Valid Class 5 Drivers License and Vehicle is preferred to travel to Mint locations and events as needed.
- Must be legally entitled to work in Canada at the time of application.
- Willingness to travel throughout Canada and work non-traditional hours may be required to attend special events or departmental initiatives.
- A satisfactory Criminal Records Check is required.
Experience & Skills
- Familiarity with communication tools and platforms (e.g., intranet, email marketing software, social media). Experience with WordPress is an asset!
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and graphic design software (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite) is preferred.
- Experience working within the Health Care Industry preferred.
