CERTIFIED WELDER

Hours:

Monday to Friday, 3:00pm to 12:00am

Rate:

$41.80 plus $2.12 shift premium per hour

 

 Miller Waste Systems Inc. has been in operation since 1961. Miller is a leader in waste management and diversion, providing governments and industries with a wide range of services in the Provinces of Ontario, Nova Scotia, New Brunswick and Manitoba. Miller has over 50 years’ experience in the waste management sector, and currently operates out of more than 30 locations. We are looking for a highly capable 310T Truck & Coach Technician or Apprentice to be located out of our Ottawa West Yard, in Carp, Ontario

 

Responsibilities:

In the position of 456A Certified Welder, your responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

  • Must adhere to Miller Waste System safety protocols and must be familiar with occupational Health & Safety Act.
  • Completing Inspections, installation, service repairs, and maintenance on waste equipment such as Truck Bodies, maxwalls and frames in Front End Loaders and Rear Loaders bodies, as required.
  • Disassemble and assemble areas to be worked on.
  • Maintain all required records and files for vehicle repairs.
  • May be required to conduct vehicle maintenance according to established MWS policies and procedures.
  • General repairs to facility, as required.
  • Welding duties as assigned and required.

 

 

 Requirements:

  • Must be legally eligible to work in Canada.
  • Previous welding experience is required- flat, horizontal, vertical and overhead.
  • CWB Certification is considered a strong and desirable asset.
  • Previous mechanical and hydraulics experience is required.
  • Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot faults on electrical and hydraulic systems.
  • Post-secondary education is industrial mechanics is considered a definite asset.
  • Must be a team leader.
  • Self-motivated individual and be able to work with others.
  • Excellent organization skills.
  • Function safely around equipment.
  • Must be able to work some holidays and Saturdays.
  • Must possess a valid G licence.
  • Must follow all Miller Waste Safety policy’s & procedures.
