Job Description - Meter Shop Test Technician

Job Duties

• Perform required electrical testing on energy meters using precision measuring equipment

•  Seal qualified meters so that they can be used for billing purposes

• Learn and follow the Triacta Quality Management System to perform and record all tests

• Troubleshoot electronic assemblies at the circuit card level with minimal help from the engineering team

• Maintain and calibrate test equipment on a weekly basis

• Participate with co-workers in improving procedures to facilitate and improve work quality

• Learn new testing procedures to rapidly bring new products to production

• Responsible for completing all documentation associated with tasks (technical data, reports, supporting documents, etc.)

• Train other meter shop test technicians as required

• Participate in Measurement Canada audits as required

• Experience with Microsoft Office, Excel, Word, PowerPoint

• Highly organized and able to effectively manage time and priorities

• Possess excellent written and verbal communication skills

 

Minimum Requirements

• College diploma in electronics or related field.

• Knowledge of recent technologies related to electronic circuits

• Working knowledge of Oscilloscope, Function Generator and Digital Multi-Meter

• Must be able to work with hand tools

• Proactive in ensuring job knowledge is current

• Ability to work independently and complete daily activities according to work schedule

• Able to work various shift hours
