Commissioning Specialist

Responsibilities: The Responsibilities of this position include but are not limited to the following:

• Review state of building equipment and identify energy and operational performance improvement opportunities
• Provide hands on commissioning in all disciplines (HVAC, Controls, and Electrical); including inspections and functional testing of building systems
• Assist with the development of measurement, verification, and monitoring methodologies to verify building performance
• Prepare and review field reports on commissioning activities
• Prepare reports providing descriptions of building systems as well as maintenance procedures that affect energy consumption and operational performance
• Interface with building owners and other technical staff to troubleshoot building operational and design issues
• Contribute to the development of standardized commissioning processes and templates
• Maintain current client relationships and develop new client relationships
• Prepare commissioning documents such as: commissioning plans, various test forms, reports, meeting minutes, system manuals, project specifications, and other documents as required
• Attend training seminars and sessions as required to maintain knowledge

Qualifications, Experience and Education:

• Post-Secondary education in Engineering or Engineering Technology
• Zero-5 plus years of work experience within the building/system environment industry, preferably in buildings commissioning, HVAC or electrical trade construction, trade superintendent or building operator
• Ability to read mechanical, electrical, and HVAC schematic drawings and diagrams
