MCW is currently seeking a self-motivated, hardworking Accounting Administrator to join our Edmonton office. The Accounting Administrator is responsible for ensuring that accounts receivable (AR) transactions and account payables (AP) transactions are recorded and processed in an accurate, timely, efficient, and auditable manner. Duties include a proactive and customer service-focused approach to AP and AR processing, preparing ad hoc reports, following up and resolving accounts and accounting issues.

Term: 12 month contract starting May (Maternity Leave Coverage)
Location: Edmonton, Alberta
Responsibilities: The Responsibilities of this position include but are not limited to the following:
- Work with MCW Management team in to obtain details of customers and invoices required to prepare to enter AR invoices,
- Accurate set-up of company projects.
- Review invoice details against the terms of the underlying agreement,
- Accounts receivable: Prepare monthly billings by performing daily accounting functions including the preparation of journal entries for adjustments, insurance, inter-office and inter-company invoices, expenses and complete month end.
- Process and administer all related employee time records including balancing, auditing and ensuring all reporting requirements are satisfied and completed accurately and timely.
- Assist with year-end audit as necessary.
- Respond to questions and provide updates to client, MCW Management and staff inquiries, maintain good relations and solve problems.
- Maintains client confidence and protects operations by keeping financial information confidential.
- Accounts payable: all project expenses, office expenses, the processing and administering of all related employee expenses including balancing, auditing and ensuring expenses are submitted accurately and timely.
- Prepares payments by verifying documentation and requesting disbursements.
- Manage sub-contractors invoices; ensure that their workers compensation is up to date.
- Collection processes: assure timely collection of monies due on outstanding invoices.
- Assist Human Resources with confidential information and onboarding of new staff.
- Assist in the administrative aspects of finance and accounting processes.
- Perform other duties and special projects as required.
Qualifications, Experience, and Education:
- Minimum 2 years of experience in a similar accounting role. University Degree or College Diploma in Accounting or Finance would be considered an asset
- Previous hands on experience with In Focus / Unanet or similar accounting program would be an asset.
