Under the direction of the Director of Human Resources, the Marketing and Communication Specialist is responsible for developing and executing marketing initiatives that align with the organization’s strategic goals. This role involves designing, managing, and measuring marketing campaigns while ensuring consistent company messaging across all channels. The ideal candidate will be proactive and possess the strategic acumen to enhance the company’s visibility, engage target audiences, and support business growth.

This role acts as a steward of information relating to Magnum’s internal and external documentation, marketing materials, bid templates, proposals, and ongoing work, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and completeness of all information being managed.

 

Job Responsibilities

Strategic Planning

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive marketing and communications plan that supports business goals and enhances company awareness.
  • Identify new trends, technologies, and innovative strategies to drive growth and engagement,
  • Use market research and data analytics to inform decision making and campaign optimization.

Sales and Marketing

  • Work closely with the Sales Coordinator and Marketing team on approved documentation available for external use (brochures, website content, sales documents, etc.) to ensure Magnum’s vision is upheld at all times.
  • Create compelling, audience-centric content for various channels including web, email, social media and print.
  • Lead the design, implementation, and management of marketing campaigns from concept to completion.
  • Collaborate with the internal marketing stakeholders to accurately and regularly maintain social media accounts.
  • Communicate effectively with employees to maintain the company’s reputation for quality and commitment to service.
  • Stay ahead of digital marketing trends and implement innovative tactics to enhance the company’s online presence.
  • Monitor, measure and report on the performance of digital marketing efforts using analytics tools to optimize engagement and conversion.

Internal Communications

  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure alignment between external and internal communications.
  • Develop and manage internal communication strategies to keep employees informed, engaged and aligned with company goals.

General

  • Participate in training and development activities.
  • Other related duties as required.

 

Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Required:
    • Post-secondary education in Marketing, Communications or related field.
    • 3+ years of experience in marketing and communications.
    • Strong understanding of digital marketing, social media, and content creation.
    • Extremely proficient in the use of computer software, including word processing, spreadsheets, and accounting software, as well as MS Office suite of products (Word, Excel, Outlook, and Access).
    • Ability to compose and edit correspondence for members of the Sales team and Management.
    • Highly organized with the ability to intuitively understand the needs of the initiatives being supported.
    • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to multitask.
    • Legally eligible to work in the country the role is based out of.
  • Looking For:
    • Several years of experience in a similar role in an independent business environment or in progressively responsible administrative positions.
    • Able to maintain accurate files, ensuring confidentiality of data is maintained.
    • Detail and process oriented with a high degree of accuracy.
    • Excellent oral and written communication skills, able to take limited direction and follow verbal and written instructions.
    • Strong work ethic, positive attitude, reliable, and dependable.
    • Flexible and able to adapt to change.
    • Understands the importance of safety.
    • Team player and customer service focused.
    • Demonstrated initiative and results orientated.
  • Assets:
    • Ability to interpret financial or other information.
    • Experience in oilfield service organizations.
    • Able to travel locally.
