Role Overview:

McElhanney is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive IT asset management (ITAM) professional to join our growing IT team. In this role, the individual will lead or contribute to all aspects of McElhanney’s hardware and software management lifecycle.

The IT Asset Management Coordinator is responsible for developing and managing software asset management (SAM) and hardware asset management (HAM) practices in line with industry standards. In this role, you will track, manage, audit, and report on McElhanney’s IT assets. You will collaborate closely with teams including Infrastructure, Service Desk, Vendor & Contract Management, Finance, and Legal to ensure asset data is available to support business decisions.

The successful candidate will be based in Vancouver, BC with an expectation to be in the office at least four days per week.

 

 What You’ll be doing:

  • Develop and socialize software and hardware asset management policies, procedures, and processes.
  • Monitor and maintain hardware and software related inventory management and discovery systems.
  • Lead the management of hardware assets including procurement, disposal, lifecycle management (evergreening), replacements, lost/stolen/damaged, shipping and receiving, inventory control, and reconciliation processes.
  • Contribute to the development of asset management success criteria KPIs on asset performance, utilization, and compliance. Report to senior IT leadership on a monthly cadence.
  • Document and monitor the lifecycle of software licenses to ensure McElhanney’s compliance with vendor license agreements.
  • Identify, track, and communicate software and hardware asset related risks.
  • Prepare asset data and reports to assist senior stakeholders in planning activities.
  • Capture, document, and monitor the lifecycle of software maintenance and support contracts.
  • Provide information as needed to assist in audit-compliance activities.
  • Develop and lead the hardware requirements and device evaluation and selection process with internal stakeholders and vendors.
  • Collaborate with Vendor and Contract Management lead to develop and maintain a SAM and HAM roadmap to anticipate renewals and saving opportunities.
  • Provide responsive support to inquiries and offering effective solutions and guidance.
  • Develop and deliver training and reference materials for Managers, ensuring clear understanding of IT processes and tools.
  • Provide process awareness sessions for IT department new hires and recurrency training to achieve high levels of asset management compliance.
  • Work with the information security team to ensure McElhanney’s adherence to all regulatory requirements.
  • Initiate and manage large value quotations.
  • Assist with the coordination of mobile network provider transitions, phone upgrades, and replacements.
  • Other duties as assigned.

 

What You’ll bring:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and certifications.
  • 3-5 years of professional experience working in a similar position.
  • 2+ years of experience working in a formally structured IT environment of 1000+ users.
  • Industry recognized Software and Hardware ITIL, IAITAM, or ISO certifications in good standing.
  • Hands on experience developing, implementing, and maintaining ITAM policies, processes, and procedures.
  • Intermediate and applied knowledge of asset management standards and best practices (ISO and ITIL).
  • Analytical, organized, and strategic minded individual with strong attention to detail.
  • High performer with demonstrated ability to problem solve and work both collaboratively in a team environment as well as independently in an effective and organized manner.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft 365 productivity suite and experience with industry leading ITAM management systems. Experience with Microsoft Power Automate and other automation tools are an asset.
  • Experience working with complex datasets from multiple sources
  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • A valid driver’s license and personal vehicle is an asset

 

What Can We Offer You?

The salary range for this position is $75,000 - $85,000 per annum. McElhanney offers fair compensation that is commensurate with the individual’s education, experience, skills, and professional qualifications. The posted base salary/wage range is representative of the required level of qualifications and experience for the position as noted in the job posting. The salary offered will be based on the experience and qualifications of the successful candidate.
