Role Overview:

McElhanney is seeking a skilled Systems Engineer to elevate the End User Computing and Mobile Systems Architecture and experience. Reporting to the Manager of Infrastructure, this role provides technical support, leadership, and strategic oversight for end-user computing and mobile device technologies for Windows, iOS, and Linux endpoints.

The successful candidate will be based in Vancouver, BC, with an expectation to be in the office at least three days per week.

 

What You’ll be Doing:

  • Manage, configure, and optimize end-user computing and mobile devices.
  • Lead planning and execution of end-user computing and mobile management improvement projects and initiatives.
  • Develop and implement cost-effective endpoint computing support services and solutions incorporating security best practices and user experience.
  • Develop relationships with internal stakeholders, vendors and provide mentoring to IT team members to provide guidance and foster skill development.
  • Provide responsive support and communication when engaged to resolve complex technical issues to deliver an excellent user experience.
  • Proactively identify trends and opportunities to remediate issues or enhance user experience satisfaction, security, and operational excellence.
  • Be an active participant in IT department’s Continuous Quality Improvement program.
  • Deliver to presentations to technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Maintain currency with new endpoint technology trends and best practices.
  • Conduct structured and efficient testing, validation, and deployment of enterprise applications, operating systems, major upgrades, security updates, and patches.
  • Develop and manage configuration profiles, perform comprehensive testing, document findings, and update procedures while ensuring clear and effective communication.
  • Function as an escalation point for the Helpdesk, diagnosing and resolving advanced endpoint-related issues.
  • Monitor and report on endpoint performance, compliance, and security vulnerabilities

 

 

What You’ll be bring:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and certifications.
  • 3-5 years of professional experience in systems administration or engineering in enterprise environments of 1000+ users.
  • Certifications in Microsoft Modern Desktop, Security, and Teams administration required.
  • Advanced to Expert knowledge and experience administrating Microsoft Intune, Autopilot, Azure, Entra/Active Directory, OneDrive, SharePoint, Team, Defender, Windows, mobile and computing hardware, software delivery and update management systems for Windows, Linux, and iOS endpoints.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and able to effectively communicate to technical and non-technical audiences.
  • High performer with demonstrated ability to problem solve and work both collaboratively in a team environment as well as independently in an effective and organized manner.
  • Strong scripting experience, particularly in PowerShell, and knowledge of application packaging technologies and automation tools.
  • Familiarity with IT security, networking, virtual servers, and change management processes.

 

What Can We Offer You?

The salary range for this position is $75,000 - $90,000 per annum. McElhanney offers fair compensation that is commensurate with the individual’s education, experience, skills, and professional qualifications. The posted base salary/wage range is representative of the required level of qualifications and experience for the position as noted in the job posting. The salary offered will be based on the experience and qualifications of the successful candidate.
