The Opportunity:

Are you someone who thrives on positivity, organization, and dedication? McElhanney is excited to offer an opportunity for an Administrator to join our fast-paced team in Calgary, AB. The ideal candidate will be able and happy to anticipate needs for the office and team as well as work with the managers, to run a successful operation. The successful candidate will perform a variety of tasks to support our fast-paced branch.

 

Salary range: $41,000 - $57,000 per annum. McElhanney offers fair compensation that is commensurate with the individual’s education, experience, skills, and professional qualifications. The posted base salary range is representative of the required level of qualifications and experience for the position as noted in the job posting. The salary offered will be based on the experience and qualifications of the successful candidate.

 

What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Set up and maintain projects, clients, employees, and company information in the system to ensure accurate and up-to-date records.
  • Manage branch accounts payable and receivable, including invoicing, deposit reconciliation, and collections for outstanding accounts.
  • Provide front desk services, including answering calls, greeting clients, managing mail and couriers, scheduling boardrooms, and handling general clerical tasks such as filing, scanning, and archiving.
  • Support Quality Management initiatives, including conducting spot audits, following up on corrective actions, and preparing monthly reports.
  • Organize internal and external events, coordinate staff travel arrangements, and manage office supply inventory and orders.
  • Assist in drafting correspondence, coordinate meetings, and contribute to maintaining a safe, clean, and positive office environment while supporting additional tasks as required.

 

What You’ll Bring:

  • 1 - 3 years’ prior office experience in a reception and administrative support role; formal training in an administration program is considered an asset.
  • Proficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, etc.).
  • Excellent attention to detail, good multi-tasking and proofreading abilities, punctual and the ability to work independently in a busy environment.
  • Experience with technical writing, and or experience with the professional consulting industry is preferred.
  • Personable, professional demeanor, and a team player with the ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
  • Ability to take initiative and aptitude for quick learning 
  • Knowledge of basic accounting/bookkeeping functions and theory is considered an asset.
