The Opportunity
McElhanney has an exciting opportunity for a Project Manager to join our growing Land Development Division in the Surrey region. As a Project Manager, you will have 8+ years of professional experience, while being a strong team player with high productivity and excellent attention to detail. Aside from your technical skills, you’ll also have the opportunity to leverage your established contacts and local experience to further build out the Land Development services group’s business.
We are looking for a dedicated senior engineer to focus on project management, detailed design, proposal writing, and business development in the Surrey region with opportunities throughout the Lower Mainland. We are looking for strong technical skills with knowledge of linear utilities design, roadworks design, Plumbing Code, construction contracts, and municipal design criteria.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Manage land development projects, with a focus on institutional clients, within the Surrey region with opportunities within the Lower Mainland.
- Coordinate designers, drafters, survey, environmental services, subconsultants, direct the design, write technical specifications, prepare cost estimates, and be the Engineer of Record.
- Prepare effective proposals, liaise with clients, and find opportunities to leverage our inter-disciplinary teams to provide value-added services.
- Generate invoices, manage project budgets and financial reporting, and maintain project schedules.
- Work at one of our three Vancouver region offices: Vancouver, Surrey (preferred) or Langley.
- Coordinate and mentor junior and team members and monitor project progress to ensure schedules, budgets and quality control standards are achieved.
What You’ll Bring
- Degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited post-secondary institution with 2+ years of experience acting as the Civil Engineer of Record on a breadth of projects.
- Registration in good standing as a Professional Engineer (P. Eng.) in British Columbia
- Demonstrate a track record of maintaining satisfied clients and successfully delivering projects
- Excellent communication skills are a must and demonstrate business development skills
- Strong computer (Microsoft Office), technical writing and presentation skills
- Ability to use or understand AutoCAD Civil3D would be an asset but is not required
- High productivity, attention to detail, and an ability to work well in a team environment are essential
- Strong organizational skills and flexibility to manage changing priorities on short notice.
What Can We Offer You?
The salary range for this position is $$95,000 - $130,000 per annum. McElhanney offers fair compensation that is commensurate with the individual’s education, experience, skills, and professional qualifications. The posted base salary/wage range is representative of the required level of qualifications and experience for the position as noted in the job posting. The salary offered will be based on the experience and qualifications of the successful candidate.
