The Opportunity:

 

McElhanney Ltd. is seeking a dedicated Senior/Intermediate Land Analyst to join our Land and Regulatory team in Calgary, AB. In this role, you will be responsible for the administration of land rights in accordance with applicable laws, regulations, policies and standards. The successful candidate will have strong written and verbal communication and organizational skills, with a strong attention to detail and the ability to work in a fast-paced professional environment.

 

 

 

What You’ll Be Doing: 

 

  • Preparation of the required documentation for the acquisition of land such as surface acquisition documents, Crown applications and Land Titles registrations.
  • Request, obtain and manage third party approvals and send out industry and stakeholder notifications. 
  • Pull land titles and public land reports.
  • Support project teams with permitting and regulatory applications.
  • Final package preparation, including final reporting documentation such as contact reports and line lists.
  • File initialization in internal database and database maintenance.
  • Preparation and maintenance of project tracking reports.
  • Prepare and issue project invoices and track subsequent accounts receivable as necessary.
  • Audit documentation, support and mentor junior land analysts.
  • Assist with Indigenous consultation submissions as required.
  • Attending internal and external client meetings.
  • Lead or assist with other projects and administrative tasks as necessary.

 

 

 

What You’ll Bring:

 

  • 5+ years of experience working on land projects with preference given to candidates that have experience working in a land broker environment.
  • Post-secondary education in Land Administration or relevant work experience.
  • Proficient with using land systems and Microsoft Office.
  • A strong understanding of Alberta land and regulatory processes.  Understanding of British Columbia and Saskatchewan land and regulatory requirements considered an asset.
  • Strong understanding of Alberta Crown Land acquisition processes and requirements.
  • Proficient in using AER’s OneStop system, ACO’s Digital Submission and AEP’s Electronic Disposition System.
  • Results oriented individual with the ability to effectively manage multiple priorities and timelines.
  • People oriented with an ability to build and maintain strong working relationships with staff, clients and industry.

Salary: $64,000- $95,000 per annum. McElhanney offers fair compensation that is commensurate with the individual’s education, experience, skills, and professional qualifications. The posted base salary/wage range is representative of the required level of qualifications and experience for the position as noted in the job posting. The salary offered will be based on the experience and qualifications of the successful candidate.
