The Opportunity:

McElhanney has a unique opportunity for a Civil Engineer to join our team in Lloydminster, AB. We are seeking an experienced Professional Engineer with demonstrated leadership capabilities and strong design skills. This individual will be responsible for guiding project teams in the delivery of diverse civil engineering projects. Our ideal candidate will have experience working with municipalities, rural municipalities, counties, and cities on a variety of infrastructure, construction, and roadworks projects. What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Provide detailed design support in the production of engineering designs, drawings, and specifications, meeting all client and approval agency requirements, including new municipal utilities and road works, local government utility rehabilitation and renewal projects, and land development projects.
  • Coordinate and assist in the preparation of documents required for approvals, calculations, prepare development and construction cost estimates, tender documents, and contracts.
  • Coordinate with team members to ensure schedules, budgets and quality control standards are achieved.
  • Manage client communications and ensure all client requirements are met throughout the design and reporting process.
  • Provides technical mentorship and guidance to junior engineers and technical staff.

What You’ll Bring:

  • 3+ years of experience in a similar role with a degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited university.
  • Registration in good standing as a Professional Engineer in Alberta or another provincial regulator.
  • Proficiency in the application of design software such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, water, and sewer modelling commercial software, Excel, and/or other related software.
  • High productivity, attention to detail, effective verbal and written communication skills, and an ability to work well in a team environment.
  • Experience with all government levels, construction contractors and approving authorities.
  • Ability to travel for occasional site visits.
  • Experience working in a construction or consulting environment is an asset.

Salary Range:  $88,000-$132,000 per annum. McElhanney offers fair compensation that is commensurate with the individual’s education, experience, skills, and professional qualifications. The posted base salary range is representative of the required level of qualifications and experience for the position as noted in the job posting. The salary offered will be based on the experience and qualifications of the successful candidate.
