The Opportunity
McElhanney is seeking an enthusiastic and driven professional to join our growing hydrogeology team. This role presents an opportunity for collaboration and career growth with our senior hydrogeologists and multidisciplinary team of Water Resources professionals.
McElhanney’s hydrogeology work includes coastal, mountainous, and urban environments in Western Canada, with a focus on urban hydrogeology, aquifer assessments, wastewater dispersal studies, and development of groundwater supplies. Our clients come from the public and private sectors and include Municipalities, First Nations, Developers, and Transportation Authorities.
We’re looking for an intermediate or senior-level technical professional who has an interest in the business side of consulting; someone who is ambitious yet humble, is people-smart and enjoys working with others. Experience collaborating effectively with clients, contractors, and colleagues in other disciplines is a must.

What You’ll Bring
- Bachelor's degree in engineering or geosciences, with courses in hydrogeology. A Master's degree in hydrogeology is an asset.
- Eligibility as a Professional Geoscientist (P.Geo), Engineer (P.Eng.), or Licensee Engineer (P.L.Eng.) with EGBC.
- Minimum 8 years of experience, preferably in a consulting environment. Familiarity with hydrogeology issues and regulations in BC is an asset.
- Experience using hydrogeology data management tools and analysis software.
- Field experience in groundwater assessment techniques, supervising well drilling, overseeing well design and installation, and well inspection, testing, and maintenance activities.
- Project management experience is an asset.

What Can We Offer You?
The salary range for this position is $108,000 - $145,000 per annum. McElhanney offers fair compensation that is commensurate with the individual’s education, experience, skills, and professional qualifications. The posted base salary/wage range is representative of the required level of qualifications and experience for the position as noted in the job posting. The salary offered will be based on the experience and qualifications of the successful candidate.
