The Marketing & Communications department at McElhanney lives our purpose – to Amaze our clients, Care for our communities, and Empower our people. We’re looking for an experienced Marketing Specialist to help develop and deliver targeted campaigns and materials to support growth in specific markets, while supporting overall corporate brand sustainment initiatives. In this role, you’ll execute strategic campaigns, develop and deliver marketing plans, create compelling marketing collateral, and lead key activities that drive revenue growth. Your responsibilities will include hands-on development of tradeshow exhibit materials, content marketing, and industry award submissions. You’ll also collaborate with the Brand Sustainment Lead to maintain consistent brand identity across multiple digital platforms, as well as contribute to social media and marketing campaigns across other sectors as needed.
This role offers flexible working arrangements, with the option to work hybrid or in-office depending on your location. While we prefer candidates based in Vancouver or Calgary, we also welcome applicants located near any other McElhanney branch locations in BC and Alberta.
What You’ll Do:
Reporting to the Marketing Services Lead, you will:
- Develop and execute targeted marketing plans that follow B2B marketing best practices to support company goals and regional business development objectives.
- Coordinate and plan events, from conference sponsorships to international tradeshow exhibits.
- Analyze marketing performance, evaluate campaign effectiveness, and adjust strategies based on data insights.
- Write and edit content across various platforms (web content, brochures, award submissions, etc.) with ease and consistency, while collaborating with technical and subject matter experts to create compelling marketing materials that differentiate our firm from the rest.
- Monitor competitive landscapes and industry trends to share insights with the team.
- Work with the Brand Sustainment Lead to audit and update the company website and digital platforms, ensuring consistency with McElhanney’s brand identity.
- Provide back-up support for the social media plan and manage daily duties on an as-needed basis, including creating content, scheduling posts, monitoring engagement, and responding to comments or inquiries.
- Use WordPress, GA4, Rival IQ, and other platforms to analyze data and provide insights that inform marketing strategies, optimize content performance, and drive engagement across digital channels.
- Collaborate with an award-winning Marketing & Communications team to drive departmental goals and support business development strategies.
What You'll Bring:
- Post-secondary diploma or degree in marketing, communications, or related field.
- 5+ years of experience in a marketing role, preferably in B2B or technical services.
- 3-5 years’ experience with search engine marketing (SEM), content management systems (e.g., WordPress), and B2B analytics tools (e.g., Google Analytics, Rival IQ, Hootsuite) preferred.
- Experience in events coordination and attending client-facing engagements
- Familiarity using Adobe InDesign, Illustrator, and/or Photoshop is a plus. Ability to travel occasionally and attend industry events outside of office hours.

- Strong interpersonal skills: High level of professionalism and adaptability for working in a dynamic team environment; demonstrated ability to present ideas effectively, engage with interest holders, and contribute constructively to team discussions.
- Analytical thinking: Proficient in leveraging data to inform marketing strategies and assess campaign effectiveness.

Salary Range:
The salary range for this position is $65,000-$80,000 per annum. McElhanney offers fair compensation that is commensurate with the individual’s education, experience, skills, and professional qualifications. The posted base salary range is representative of the required level of qualifications and experience for the position as noted in the job posting. The salary offered will be based on the experience and qualifications of the successful candidate.
