The Opportunity
We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced professional with natural leadership abilities and broad technical skills to help grow and develop our Indigenous Client base as an Indigenous Communities Infrastructure Business Leader.
In this role, you will help pull together functional project teams, create business development strategies, and oversee the delivery of projects for communities within the Fraser Valley area and throughout the province. You will work closely with the Indigenous Practice Lead to ensure that projects being delivered are consistent in quality and meet funding eligibility requirements. Collaboration with a range of professionals throughout the company, including planners, engineers, surveyors, biologists and project managers will be required to help deliver high quality projects and increase our service offerings for existing clients.
McElhanney has many long-standing relationships with Indigenous Communities throughout BC and AB and have gained a reputation for providing quality service with our existing clients. You will lean on this experience to grow our business, principally within the lower mainland area, but also across BC.

What You'll Be Doing
- Develop new business opportunities and establish strategic relationships with key clients, agencies, and partners with local Indigenous Communities
- Prepare effective proposals and liaise with clients and seek out opportunities to leverage our inter-disciplinary teams to provide value-added services
- Project manage projects for our Indigenous clients including including transportation, facilities, land development and utility projects
- Review project financials and ensure project budgets are met
- Assist in developing and executing branch strategic plans and budgets. Assist with recruitment of new staff to achieve strategic objectives
- Represent McElhanney to the external environment including clients, business partners, and professional associations to enhance McElhanney’s positive public profile. Industry and professional groups will include professional groups
What You'll Bring
- Excellent communication skills and a client-focused mindset are a must
- Understanding of capital project delivery under the Indigenous Services Canada funding programs
- Ideally 15+ years of experience in working with Indigenous Communities
- Ideally 15+ years of project management and client management experience
- Progressive experience in managing diverse teams of professionals and business development
What Can We Offer You?
The salary range for this position is $120,000-$140,000 per annum. McElhanney offers fair compensation that is commensurate with the individual’s education, experience, skills, and professional qualifications. The posted base salary/wage range is representative of the required level of qualifications and experience for the position as noted in the job posting. The salary offered will be based on the experience and qualifications of the successful candidate.
