OVERVIEW OF THE ROLE:
We are looking for a highly skilled and detail-oriented Controller to lead our financial operations and support our continued growth. This role will oversee the financial health of the organization by managing accounting operations, financial reporting, and funding applications while leading a high-performing finance team. The ideal candidate will ensure compliance with financial regulations, support strategic decision-making, and drive operational efficiency.
WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING IN THE ROLE:
- Financial Management & Reporting:
- Oversee general accounting operations, including accounts payable/receivable, general ledger, and financial reporting.
- Prepare accurate and timely financial statements, reports, and forecasts to support business decisions.
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards, tax regulations, and financial policies.
- Budgeting & Forecasting:
- Develop and manage annual budgets and financial projections.
- Conduct variance analysis to track financial performance against budget and identify areas for improvement.
- Funding Applications & Cash Flow Management:
- Prepare and submit funding applications to support business growth initiatives.
- Manage cash flow planning and capital allocation to ensure financial stability.
- Collaborate with investors, banks, and other financial stakeholders to secure financing and manage financial risks.
- Strategic Financial Planning:
- Provide financial insights and recommendations to the executive team to support strategic growth initiatives.
- Conduct financial modeling and scenario analysis to support business planning and investment decisions.
- Team Leadership:
- Lead, mentor, and develop a finance team to ensure efficiency and accuracy in financial operations.
- Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
- Internal Controls & Compliance:
- Implement and maintain robust financial controls and procedures.
- Ensure compliance with internal policies, industry regulations, and external audits.
WHAT SKILLS / QUALIFICATIONS YOU’LL NEED TO DO THE JOB:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field (CPA, CMA, or CFA preferred).
- 5+ years of experience in a financial leadership role, preferably in a fast-paced industry.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, and accounting principles.
- Proven experience in budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in financial software and ERP systems (e.g., QuickBooks, NetSuite, or similar).
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities.
