OVERVIEW OF THE ROLE
Mariner is seeking a skilled Privacy Technologist to support privacy initiatives, with a focus on developing and maintaining a Privacy Impact Assessment (PIA) for our client. The Privacy Technologist will manage and deliver on key privacy assessments, create frameworks for continuous compliance, and engage with internal and external stakeholders to address privacy risks and mitigations.
WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING IN THE ROLE:
- Create and manage a detailed project workplan to complete the program's Privacy Impact Assessment (PIA), ensuring timelines and resources are efficiently aligned.
- Prepare and deliver a comprehensive PIA that identifies privacy risks, outlines compliance measures, and aligns with regulatory requirements.
- Design and implement a robust framework and process for ongoing PIA maintenance, ensuring continuous adherence to privacy standards and regulatory updates.
- Develop a clear, detailed presentation that outlines key findings from the PIA, including privacy risks, mitigation strategies, and compliance recommendations.
- Conduct outcome-driven meetings with multiple stakeholders, ensuring clear communication and consensus on privacy objectives, risks, and best practices.
WHAT SKILLS / QUALIFICATIONS YOU’LL NEED TO DO THE JOB:
- Bachelor’s degree in Law, Business, Information Security, or a related field; advanced degree or relevant certifications (e.g., CIPP, CIPM, CIPT) are preferred.
- Proven experience conducting privacy assessments of vendor-hosted solutions and delivering PIAs, especially in multi-vendor, interconnected system environments.
- Background in citizen-facing digital identity projects, with a focus on addressing privacy risks and compliance.
- Excellent knowledge of privacy frameworks and data protection standards.
- Strong analytical, communication, and writing abilities, along with experience in planning and leading stakeholder meetings.
- Prior experience working on privacy projects within a public-sector context.
