HOURS OF WORK: 35 hours per week, Monday to Friday
This position has the option to participate in a modified work week schedule (37.5 hours/week) Monday to Friday, with the extra hours worked as one earned day off taken once every three-week scheduled cycle.

PRIMARY FUNCTION:
To provide technical guidance, analysis and supervision of implementation and maintenance regarding technological approaches to automating and streamlining business processes. To analyze current business processes and future opportunities resulting in efficiencies or other relevant deliverables that leverage available and future technological resources.

DUTIES:
- PROVIDE TECHNOLOGICAL EXPERTISE, GUIDANCE, ANALYSIS, AND SUPERVISION IN SUPPORT OF TECHNOLOGY-BASED INITIATIVES:
- Support digital transformation projects by identifying and delivering innovative technology solutions that meet business needs for today and tomorrow;
- Gather business requirements using a variety of methods and techniques, tailoring interactions to the specific business unit’s level of expertise;
- Develop detailed technological specifications for project and business requirements to support the operations through increased efficiency of data (input), management of information (reports) and quality checks and improvements (audit);
- Produce technological specification requirements in an appropriate level of detail and manner suitable for use by those who must base their work on the requirements;
- Develop solutions using Microsoft tools, such as SharePoint 365, Power Automate, MSTeams, Power BI, Planner, Co-pilot, ChatGPT, and other AI Microsoft products;
- Project manage the implementation of new technology solutions;
- Support the design and development process pertaining to new technologies or automated processes as a subject matter expert and project stakeholder, ensuring that technical and workflow design is validated against business and functional requirements and facilitates design validation and product walkthroughs as required;
- Provide maintenance and support after solutions are deployed;
- Provide supervision, guidance and mentoring to team and project staff to coordinate the activities of personnel less experienced with implementation and change management to ensure the capture and documentation of functional requirements;
- Participate in peer reviews and inspections of requirements specifications;
- Liaise with other internal stakeholders to ensure operational, legislative, and security needs are being met;
- Provides an appropriate level of testing to confirm solutions address the requirements specifications;
- Provide guidance on roll-out plans to ensure smooth and efficient deployment of new technologies;
- Participate in requirements prioritization and propose new technology/product features; and,
- Establish and implement effective development and continued enhancement of the organization’s technological policies, procedures and tools.
2. PROVIDE PLATFORM AND DATA ANALYSIS SERVICES AND EXPERTISE:
a. Develop and maintain effective relationships with key business stakeholders that lead to a
thorough understanding of current and emerging business opportunities facilitated through
the use of technology; contributes to the stakeholder’s strategic goals and plans;
b. Ensure business stakeholders understand current platforms and systems to optimize LABC
internal technology;
c. Liaise with other technology experts to ensure a comprehensive and practical review of
alternatives has been conducted in response to complex business problems; provides clear
and appropriate recommendations (i.e. solutions) addressing these opportunities;
d. Lead, or assist with, the ongoing implementation and optimization of LABC platform and workflow automations to meet business needs (i.e. MS365, SharePoint, etc);
e. Educate business users and technologists on software development methodologies and
best practices, ensuring these stakeholders understand their roles and are able to be
successful; and
f. Assist Program and Project Managers in the planning of projects from inception to deployment; manages projects and conducts post implementation reviews.
- PERFORM SUPERVISORY DUTIES:
- Plan, assign, review, monitor, and evaluate the day-to-day work of staff;
- Provide day-to-day supervision of staff including attendance management, overtime and training request approvals, scheduling of vacation, and other time off, and recommend disciplinary action as necessary;
- Assist staff to obtain necessary resources and professional development to assist them in their regular work and in achievement of strategic objectives;
- Participate in hiring, training, orientation and development of staff performance and evaluation plans;
- Resolve conflicts and participate in disciplinary meetings as required;
- Provide guidance and assist staff to ensure completion of tasks, including quality of work and accuracy.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Basic requirements
- Completion of a university degree in computer sciences or business
- OR an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Minimum 3 years related experience in business analysis and relevant experience as outlined in rated requirements, including supervisory experience
- Minimum of 3 years experience in developing technology solutions using Microsoft tools (SharePoint 365, Power Automate, Microsoft Artificial Intelligence tools, etc.)
- Project Management certificate or equivalent

- Knowledge of technology quality assurance practices, methods and related documents.
- Knowledge of best practices in product management and planning
- Strong organizational skills including the ability to plan, coordinate and monitor a significant number of functions simultaneously
- Understanding of various software applications and technologies as well as their practical application and architecture in an organization
- Ability to act as a project manager for the development and implementation of systems.
- Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing and to present concepts and solutions in non-technical language.
