Neighbourly Pharmacy is looking for a Delivery Driver/Pharmacy Assistant to join our Saskatoon-Preston Ave S, SK location at Pharmasave #477 Stonebridge.

Job Description:

Reporting to the Store Operator/Pharmacy Manager, and under the supervision of a pharmacist, this role is responsible for performing specific dispensing functions as outlined by provincial regulations and standards of practice. The Delivery Driver/Pharmacy Assistant is responsible for completing deliveries of medications and supplies throughout Saskatoon while maintaining the safety and security of the cargo. They are responsible for daily vehicle inspections, fueling, cleaning of the company van, and reporting any issues or services needs to the Store Operator. This position also requires the candidate to lift and maneuver large packages. The candidate will also work in the Pharmacy when not completing deliveries. They will be responsible for the organization and distribution of merchandise, record keeping, and any responsibilities determined by the Store Operator.

  • 32 to 40 hours per week.
  • The usual shifts will be Monday to Saturday between 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

Delivery

 

  • Do all pickups and deliveries. Maintain daily reporting as required.
  • Complete proper delivery documentation. Ensure delivery slips are signed and submitted.
  • Ensure all mail is postmarked and mailed every day.
  • Bank deposits are completed daily.
  • Maintain Delivery of Automobiles including neatness, cleanliness, fuel, oil, tires, and general maintenance when needed. Utilize and update the maintenance log binder.

 

Dispensing

The pharmacy assistant must be always under the supervision of a pharmacist. All dispensing functions performed by a pharmacy assistant must be carried out following provincial regulations and standards of practice.

 

  • Receive a written prescription from customers.
  • Locate the medication, select the prescription container, and count/pour the medication.
  • Attach the label to the prescription container.
  • Ensure that the original container, prescription container contents, and label are checked and initialled by the pharmacist.
  • Regularly phone customers for unclaimed prescriptions.

 

Pharmacy Operations

Perform other tasks as outlined by the pharmacy manager or staff pharmacists. To include:

 

  • Keep all areas of the pharmacy clean, neat, and professional.
  • Maintain adequate stock of pharmacy supplies.
  • Answer the pharmacy telephone, except for the doctor’s line, which should be answered by a pharmacist.
  • All doctors’ calls and inquiries regarding prescriptions, copies, drug information, and poisons must be referred to a pharmacist.
  • Assist with third-party billing.
  • Set up a schedule for outdated pharmaceuticals.
  • Assist with inventory control.
  • Assist with checking off and putting away pharmaceutical orders.
  • Maintain stocks of pamphlets/consumer information.
  • Maintain OTC/non-prescription sections, as designated.

 

 

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Candidates must possess a valid and permanent provincial driver's licence.
  • Eligible candidates must provide a driver abstract dated within the last 30 days.
  • Maintain the safety and integrity of the company vehicle.
  • Ability to lift and maneuver large packages.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple assignments.
  • Strong customer service skills and a display of a high degree of professionalism.
  • Ability to follow proper procedures and guidelines.
  • Preference will be given to those who have retail Pharmacy experience.
  • Kroll experience is an asset.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Able to work independently and have experience multi-tasking.
  • Professional attitude and ability to communicate well with customers and co-workers.
  • Due to this position’s sensitive nature, the successful candidate must complete a Criminal Record Check.

  • 8-hour shift
  • Day shift
  • Afternoon shift
  • Every weekend
  • Weekend as needed.
