Purpose of the Role
The Senior Manager, Infrastructure and Support will provide leadership and oversight in the implementation and maintenance of the core infrastructure, Datacentre and Network, technologies. The Senior Manager will work closely with the business to ensure that plans are supported by the IT infrastructure.
The Senior Manager will be responsible for demonstrating proven technical and people leadership in ensuring high system uptime (ensuring that critical and ancillary services and their supporting infrastructure are actively monitored and required actions initiated in response to real-time observations and triggered events and incidents), optimal resource utilization, support change & growth, collaborate with functional partners, empower people and effect continuous improvement.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Provide ongoing strategic and tactical evaluation of the core infrastructure, Data centre and Network and delivery of services to ensure alignment with LifeLabs’ long-term strategy and business requirements
- Build excellent relationships with other IT and business stakeholders to define business requirements for new technology implementations that are needed. Recommend enhancements/changes which supports business strategy and improved productivity
- Manage the design, implementation, maintenance, upgrade and support of systems and core infrastructure technology (physical, virtual, and cloud)
- Manage overall IT infrastructure and support day-to-day operations to improve performance, user’s satisfaction, and IT costs
- Develop and implement corporate IT policies, standards, guidelines, and procedures
- Manage current and foster new relationships with vendors in the IT Infrastructure, computing and network space to execute the IT strategic plan. Oversee the rollout of new technologies and manage system administration and governance. Ensure the development of proper training and documentation for system use and maintenance. Accountable for related renewals and licensing of solutions, and managing associated budget
- Fostering a team environment of service excellence, curiosity and continuous improvement
- Ensure performance and health monitoring of key IT infrastructure components
- Develop business case justifications and cost/benefit analyses for spending and initiatives for IT infrastructure
- Ensure the infrastructure team is monitoring and mitigating infrastructure vulnerabilities and related risks
- Stay informed of IT industry trends and assess impacts on current infrastructure and future needs
What you bring to the role:
- Bachelors degree in information technology, system administration, information systems management or a related discipline
- Master’s degree considered an asset
- Minimum 10 years’ experience working within a technology leadership or senior technology operations role
- Minimum of 5 years' hands-on technical experience building and supporting many of the following services and technologies:

- data center facilities management,
- backbone networks,
- compute networks,
- data center provisioning
- disaster recovery
- storage area networks
- Cloud (Azure, AWS, etc.)
- extensive experience leading infrastructure delivery teams inclusive of scope, scheduling, budgeting, and project planning in an environment with aggressive delivery goals
- May direct a large department through managers, supervisors and/or senior consultants

- Incumbent has a full understanding of the business, short and medium term goals and interpreting these goals to direct reports;
- Regularly interacts with senior management in handling unusual issues, which have significant impact on the company
- Incumbent may be fully accountable for the achievement of key results as defined for the department
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Successful track record of leading, mentoring, and motivating employees
- Strategic Thought: Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail, to maintain and guide the department’s strategy
- Expert experience with tooling for ITIL and event management, alert and monitoring technologies, log management, and application performance monitoring
- Solid experience with cloud technologies in general and Azure services in particular
- Strong understanding of infrastructure technologies including server, containers, storage and network
- Experience with IT process, governance and IT frameworks
- Expertise with vendor management, negotiation and oversight of vendor resources
