Job Title: Training Specialist


Reports to: Manager, Client Services


Purpose of the Role:


We are seeking a highly motivated Training Specialist to join our team. In this role, you will play a key part in enhancing the competencies of our employees by developing and delivering training programs that align with our company’s core values. You will be responsible for conducting training needs assessments, designing engaging curriculum and learning materials, and overseeing all aspects of training interventions.

As a Training Specialist, you will collaborate with various stakeholders to identify training gaps and develop targeted solutions to address them. You will also be responsible for evaluating the effectiveness of training programs and making necessary adjustments to ensure continuous improvement. To excel in this role, you should have a strong passion for learning and development, excellent instructional design skills, and the ability to effectively communicate and engage with employees at all levels. This is a temporary 6-month maternity leave coverage.

Accountabilities:

  • Instructional Design
  • Experience producing instructor-led training sessions through different methods/platforms, and online training for Learning Management system (LMS) - develop facilitator guides, materials, presentations, job aids etc. to support learning solutions across a range of learning mediums
  • Influence the selection of appropriate approach, media, and delivery options
  • Consult with leaders at various levels to conduct needs assessments, identify skills gaps and make training recommendations for individuals and teams
  • Responsible fore leading the Client Services training programs, initiatives, and transitions, performing other duties, as required
  • Assess training and development needs and build annual training program and prepare teaching plans Training Coordination
  • Creating content and facilitation of courses in both e-Learning and Instructor-Led formats
  • Work with Subject Matter Experts to developing content, establishing good learning principles, coaching on facilitation and content quality assurance
  • Administering Learning Management System including creating reports and evaluations, user and security troubleshooting and uploading content Culture and Partnerships
  • Work with the Client Services team to support Employee Engagement and Change Management initiatives and to develop ongoing training and supports.
  • Build meaningful relationships with all key stakeholders and partners
  • Collaborate with stakeholders and team members throughout the design and development process Project Management
  • Manage time and coordinate tasks and activities related to the development of assigned learning solutions

 

Minimum Hiring Requirements:

  • Minimum of three (3) years’ experience as an internal or external Learning Advisor, Curriculum Developer, or Instructional Designer, including the design, development, delivery, and evaluation of adult learning programs
  • 3 years of related or relevant experience in classroom facilitation delivering learning programs
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Education, Curriculum Development, Human Resources and/or post secondary Certificate in a related discipline (i.e., Instructional Design, Adult Education, eLearning Development)
  • Ability to envision and create accurate and useful training program documents
  • In-depth knowledge of learning theories and instructional design models
  • Proficiency using digital learning software, graphic design software, and at least one learning management system
  • Ability to write effective copy, instructional text, audio, and video scripts
  • Strong project management skills
  • Strong communication and public speaking skills
