Parts Planning and Forecasting Analyst

 

Overview:

 

The Parts/Forecasting Planner is responsible for key areas including analysis, documentation, quality and coordination in addition to other occasional duties, as assigned, to support the delivery of departmental- and organizational-wide objectives. The incumbent also provides support on process improvement and IT system issues to the Purchasing, Warehouse, Inventory, Sales and Returns departmental teams.

 

Responsibilities:

 

Analysis

Review all Parts-related data from various sources (ERP, EDW, SPM, etc.):

  • Responsible for analyzing, identifying root causes for KPIs that are performing below goals (i.e., back-order rate, inventory turnover, excess & obsolete stock, etc.)
  • Responsible for analyzing Inbound/Outbound logistics data

 

Inventory Control

Management of inventory costs and turnover:

  • Maintain optimal parts inventory levels by placing calculated purchase orders on time
  • Excess and obsolete management and write-offs
  • Responsible for bi-annual inventory counts, count logistics and count sheets as well as overall count progress

 

Documentation

Process all expenses & customs invoices for inbound and outbound shipments:

  • Match all brokerage invoices with shipment waybills for payment to freight providers
  • Process all import requests for service parts
  • Process all parts receiving paperwork (receiving lists)
  • PDP & LCD RMA process documentation and management
  • Warehouse supply expenses
  • Additional logistics expenses

 

Quality

Contact factories via email, IM or phone to report and resolve:

  • Factory shipment damage
  • Factory short shipments
  • Factory wrong shipments
  • Any shipment issues from our factories before receiving at the warehouse

 

Coordinate

Arrange and coordinate all parts logistics and transportation requirements:

  • Coordinate and attend conference calls with LG service parts factories
  • Encourage and monitor supply chain activities at the factory level
  • Manage HS codes and other customs requirements

 

Other Occasional Duties

  • Translation of emails and manage phone calls in Korean
  • Analysis: Create reports for Korean Head Office as well as LG Canada service parts department, as required
  • Parts pricing analysis and implementation
  • Smart Parts Tool: Update daily, monitor and find improvements
  • Review Parts Department processes/procedures and plan for improvements
  • Responsible for providing management reports on a regular basis (i.e., daily backorder rate, weekly/ monthly/quarterly business review meetings etc.):
    • Provide support on IT system issues to other groups in Parts Department by acting as liaison with IT Dept.
    • Support various groups with analysis of parts business-related subjects upon request
    • Coordinate and build Parts Department Business Plan (Budget)
    • Other duties as assigned

 

Qualifications:

Education Level and/or Relevant Experience

  • Minimum 2 year college or university program in a Supply Chain, Business or other related field
  • 1-5 years of forecasting and planning experience
  • 2+ years in Logistics Supply Chain Management
  • ERP Experience (SAP, PeopleSoft or Oracle)

 

Knowledge and Skills

  • Excellent Korean and English language skills are required
  • Experience within Home Appliance, Home Electronics, HVAC sales space is an asset
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and working knowledge of Microsoft PowerPoint and Word
  • Strong organizational skills, self-motivated with the ability to multitask
  • Excellent time management skills, accuracy, and attention to detail
