Shop Technician
Levitt-Safety is currently recruiting a Shop Technician to inspect and maintain fire and life safety equipment such as extinguishers, cylinders, breathing apparatus, and other equipment that keeps our customers in the Oakville area safe every day.
About the Role
Based primarily in our shop in Oakville, you will be provided full training to support our customers and mobile technicians. You will build your career with us through formal technical training, certifications from our manufacturers, and hands-on training with our experienced team. As you develop your skills and experience, you’ll have the opportunity to progress to a mobile technician role, working in the field on customer sites to maintain equipment, conduct fit testing, and become a critical Face of Levitt-Safety to our customers.
Main Responsibilities
Your role will include diverse maintenance and repair activities including:
- Inspecting, repairing, and providing maintenance of fire equipment such as extinguishers and other types of fire & life safety equipment
- Conducting fire extinguisher inspections, maintenance, and audits, with value-add suggestions for follow-up and maintenance
- Performing site-specific training for owners and end-users

Ideal Qualifications
- Experience working in a mechanical shop or equivalent hands-on role with vehicles or other motorized equipment
- Basic electrical knowledge and mechanical aptitude with experience working with power and hand tools
- A valid driver’s license and clean driver's abstract
- Prior customer service experience and great communication skills
Physical Requirements

- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. unassisted, coupled with good hand/eye coordination and manual dexterity
- Able to pass pre-employment and periodic drug and alcohol testing as well as criminal background checks
