Levitt-Safety has exciting opportunities for experienced and customer-focused Journeyperson/Red Seal to join our team as Mobile HVAC Technicians in Fort McMurray, AB.
Location: Fort McMurray, AB
Schedule: Compressed Work Week - 14 days on/14 days off, 12-hour shifts
About the Role:
Levitt-Safety is seeking skilled and motivated Mobile Air Conditioning & Fire Suppression Technicians to join our team in Fort McMurray. These roles offer a highly desired compressed work week with 14 days on and 14 days off. For those residing outside Fort McMurray, we provide housing and travel options based on your location. For local residents, we offer a monthly housing allowance.
What You’ll Do:
As a Mobile HVAC & Fire Suppression Technician, you will:
- Inspect, maintain, and repair mobile air conditioning systems on heavy-duty equipment to ensure OEM functionality.
- Conduct routine maintenance and repairs on air conditioning systems to meet manufacturers’ standards.
- Manage service vehicle inventory and anticipate parts and supplies based on customer needs.
- Cross-train in the inspection, installation, and maintenance of vehicle fire suppression systems and fire extinguishers.
- Assist with general shop duties to support the team.
- Actively participate in fostering a safety-first culture by completing inspections, training, and certifications, and following Safe Work Practices.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 2 years of experience maintaining heavy-duty equipment or mobile air conditioning, refrigeration, heating, and ventilation systems.
- Experience or training in fire equipment servicing is an asset.
- Valid Red Seal certification in one of the following trades:
- Automotive Service Technician
- Truck and Coach Technician
- Heavy Equipment Technician
- Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Tech (HVAC) with experience in mobile equipment
- Valid driver’s license with a clean abstract.
- Must pass pre-employment and periodic pre-access drug & alcohol testing.
- Security Clearance/Criminal Background Check.

Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. unassisted.
- Good hand/eye coordination and manual dexterity.
- Ability to work in confined spaces such as engine compartments.
- Comfortable working at heights on large mining equipment using ladders and walkways.
- Ability to drive and sit for extended periods when traveling to and from customer sites.
- Frequent walking on uneven terrain at customer sites.
