Every day, more than 1,200 people work with the YMCAs of Québec network, providing a variety of services that create positive change in people’s lives. 

Reporting to the Camp Leadership Team, the Assistant Coordinator for Logistics provides logistical support to the management team and camp field teams. The successful candidate will also oversee the set-up of preventive and emergency measures and support seasonal management teams on logistical and supply issues. The person will establish and maintain positive relationships with children, parents and guardians, and the camp team, and make sure that all participants have an enriching YMCA camp experience.

In this position, you will be responsible for:

  • Managing day camp supplies
  • Planing out the equipment and facilities necessary for each day camp held outside the YMCA
  • Participating in set-up at the beginning of the season and putting away at the end
  • Making sure all HR documents and information is received
  • Examining and organize how campers enter and exit for efficiency
  • Tracking credit card expenses
  • Assisting the Training and Program Advisor on search and follow-up for excursion reservations and purchases
  • Managing the logistics for the training of management and activities leader teams
  • Overseeing the implementation of prevention and emergency measures (training, protocols, audits)
  • Adhering to YMCA policies and procedures for the protection of children and vulnerable persons
  • Understanding and applying philanthropic values in your work within the Association by participating in fundraising activities and events

Candidate profile

  • Age 18 and over
  • High level of proficiency in French and English, both spoken and written
  • Technical student in recreation management, administration, office automation
  • Camp experience an asset

Key skills

  • Organizational & optimization abilities
  • Comfort with organizational tools and online software (database, Excel, Google Drive, Outlook 365 Suite)
  • Ability to work on a team and maintain a good working environment
  • Accountability and adherence to YMCA ethical standards Ability to take the initiative and work independently


For your professional growth, the YMCA Day Camps offer:

  • Choice of where you want to work: This position requires travel to different campsites throughout the camp season, as well as to the downtown YMCA office.
  • Hourly wage: Starting at $20.25
  • Cost of training in first aid and CPR (if you’re not already certified), as this training is a prerequisite for the position. Please note, however, that training time is unpaid.
  • A training program from February to March (15 hr/week), April to May (30 hr/week), June to August (40 hr/week) and September to December (10 hr/week).
