Camp YMCA Kanawana is Québec’s oldest residential summer camp, offering innovative programming and traditional YMCA values-based camping.
Camp YMCA Kanawana is responsible for welcoming wilderness camping community groups from Montréal, Gatineau, and Quebec City. Camp YMCA Kanawana is located on a gorgeous 550-acre site in the Laurentians that includes three lakes and a network of wooded trails. The guide`s mandate will be to manage, plan, prepare, and supervise summer camping trip.
WHAT CHALLENGES WILL YOU TACKLE?
• Manage and supervise all aspects of camping logistics.
• Ensure all activities are safe and respect the required safety measures.
• Manage equipment appropriately.
• Manage all aspects of the supervision of participants in a safe context in terms of health, safety and the facilitation of the proposed programming.
• Ensure proper follow-up with team members and coordinator and act in a professional manner with accompanying adults
• Adhere to YMCA policies and procedures regarding the protection of children and vulnerable people.
• Perform any other related duties related to the position when welcoming the C-Vert group to camp.

THE PERSON WE ARE LOOKING FOR:
• Has at least two years of experience in outdoor education in a day camp or wilderness class facilitation, or in a similar field (an asset).
• Has first aid certification.
• Is fluent in English and French (spoken).
• Is available to work a variable schedule, specifically in the evenings and weekends depending on group needs at camp.
• Has a valid driver’s licence and a clean driving record.
• Has no criminal record in connection with employment.
• Weekends from Friday to Sunday, starting on the weekend of October 18th-20th to the weekend of November 22nd-24th, 2024
CONDITIONS
• Be available: Friday to Sunday from the weekend of October 18th-20th to the weekend of November 22nd-24th, 2024. Please apply even if you cannot work every weekend!
• Location: Camp YMCA Kanawana in Saint-Sauveur (during the camping weekend).
