Senior Vice President, Roads (12 months)
Lead the Project Delivery (Roads) team in executing highway projects. Act as the primary liaison with MTO clients to prioritize, assess, procure, and deliver projects. Oversee all aspects of team management and interactions with various internal and external stakeholders to ensure successful project outcomes.
What You Will Do:
- Oversee the delivery of a portfolio of highway projects, ensuring they are completed within approved schedules, budgets, and quality parameters.
- Monitor project progress and implement corrective actions as needed to address any deviations from plans.
- Develop and implement robust project management systems and financial controls to streamline project execution and ensure compliance with organizational standards and regulatory requirements.
- Manage expectations and relationships with clients, line ministries, and key partners.
- Facilitate regular communication and coordination to ensure alignment on project goals and timelines.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for project clients, advisors, and proponents.
- Provide clear direction and guidance to maintain Infrastructure Ontario’s objectives and ensure client satisfaction.
- Provide leadership to the project delivery team, including setting performance goals, conducting regular performance reviews, and implementing training and development programs to enhance team capabilities.
- Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies to minimize impact on project delivery.
- Ensure proactive risk management practices are integrated into all project phases.
- Establish and enforce quality assurance protocols to ensure all projects meet high standards of workmanship and compliance with relevant regulations and specifications.
- Oversee project budgets and financial controls, ensuring accurate tracking of expenditures and adherence to budgetary constraints.
Implement financial reporting systems to provide transparency and accountability.
What We Are Looking For:
- Relevant professional qualifications in Engineering, Business/Commerce; advanced qualifications preferred (e.g., Master's degree in Engineering, MBA).
- Extensive experience in project management, financial controls, and key partner management, preferably within the infrastructure or construction sectors. Proven track record of successfully delivering large-scale highway projects.
- Professional Engineer (P. Eng), Project Management Professional (PMP), Master of Business Administration (MBA).
- Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a diverse team to achieve project goals.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities, capable of effectively conveying complex information to various stakeholders.
- Proficiency in project management systems and financial controls, with a deep understanding of industry best practices.
- Ability to manage client and key partner relationships effectively, fostering collaboration and trust.
- Strategic thinking and problem-solving skills, with the ability to anticipate challenges and develop innovative solutions.
- High attention to detail and commitment to quality, ensuring all aspects of project delivery meet rigorous standards.
