USA - Electrical Engineer

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Responsible for design of power systems, lighting, grounding systems, standby and emergency systems, power riser diagrams and equipment selection.
Performs load, voltage drop and short circuit calculations - Must possess the following:
- Design experience with power distribution, lighting, fire alarm systems and building utility services.
- Experience with service and distribution level load calculations, lighting level calculations and short circuit/coordination studies.
- Strong background to execute schematic designs to construction documents.
- Self-starter drive with mastery in setting and achieving project goals and milestones with limited supervision.
- Experience acting as point of contact for coordination efforts with internal and external team members.
- Consistent ability to maintain and execute project timelines and milestones across multiple clients and concurrent projects
- Superior aptitude to derive conclusions from calculations and design to make practical recommendations to clients and staff.
- Capacity to guide and supervise electrical designers.
- Expertise in maintaining orderly document control.
- Strong communication skills.
- Perform engineering calculations and analysis to ensure compliance with design criteria and all applicable regulations & customer requirements.
- Conduct or delegate project electrical inspection and test validation(s)
- Delegate customer ‘Installation & Operations Manuals’ (IOM)
- Advise and direct designers on designs and design elements where needed.
- Collaborate closely with the Director of Engineering, the sales team (as directed), internal design team members and the Plant Manager to provide feedback on system designs and equipment.
- Designate equipment for purchasing, assembly and construction of Epsilon infrastructures
- Interact with suppliers on equipment design related issues and equipment selection
- Specify system components or direct modification of products to ensure conformance with customer engineering design and performance specifications.
- Liaise with external certifying bodies (ESA, ETL, ETC.)
- Be able to travel domestically and internationally, if required

with technical specifications, and regulatory/statutory requirements

- Accountable for timely and effective support to the assembly floor
- Comply with all departmental design practices and processes
- Comply with Health & Safety policies and procedures
- Maintain an excellent attendance & punctuality record
EDUCATION, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
- Bachelor – Electrical Engineering degree required
- 1-3 years of electrical design experience, preferably within consulting firm
- Employ a friendly personality, respectful of co-workers and be able to work with individuals as part of a team
- Able to multitask and work efficiently in a demanding environment
- Motivated self-starter with high level of initiative and ability to work independently
- Excellent problem solving, organizational and time management skills
- Able to take direction and communicate with others

- Employee may occasionally be exposed to moderate noise levels when out in the plant environment
